RACE 1:Workriders Maiden Plate 1160m Straight

Watch the Charles Laird first timer COSTSAVER. Jackson Feni to ride. Another first timer to consider is TOP CLASS, son of Victory Moon. SIZZLING GUY showed good improvement last time when finishing a close up third this C & D after having been bumped in the running. ARCTIC WOLF, ARCTIC WINTER and PRIME MOVER can improve.

RACE 2:Maiden Plate 1600m Bend

Not a strong field. BAY OF GIBRALTAR (Charles Laird/Anton Marcus) has some fair form but has proved to be expensive to follow. HIGH TEA will be running on and runs best over the distance. BETA has a chance on his penultimate run when finishing second over the distance on the inside track. Piere Strydom rides. MARBROOK has claims on earlier good form. Watch the betting on the first timer CLASSIC AL.

RACE 3:Maiden Plate (F & M) 2000m Bend

CYCLONE BARBARA has had bad luck in recent starts with interference, saddle slips and losing ground at the start. She could pout all of those behind her and pull off her maiden win. DESERT MAIDEN enjoys the C & D and will be running on. Should go c ,lose to winning. WOODLAND SPIRIT also has the form to win and she stayed on well last time after having had a bad habit of fading late. Both ARCOLA and BANDERA NATIVA look likely to improve and could both earn.

RACE 4:MR 73 Hcp 2000m Bend

SONIC GANG has the form to win and expect to see him running on strongly. His best runs have been this C & D. Good chance. FLINTOFF would have found his last run too far. Piere Strydom hops aboard and he generally runs well for him. The only problem is that he appears to prefer the sand. However, one cannot ignore him in a field such as this. OFFICER WALES has nice form and should be in the shake up. He ids not one of Charles Laird's better horses but is suited to this type of field. ROYAL SQUARED has won this C & D and should be find soft going to his liking. MOON DRAGON will be running on. He only won his maiden last time and may need to confirm.

RACE 5:MR 88 Hcp 2000m Bend

KING WILLIAM has been consistent of late. An apprentice claim and a low weight could play into his hands. He will be finding his best work late. CALL TO COMBAT has won his last three and all have been by handsome margins. Very good chance again. GOLDEN CHARIOT has won  his last two very emphatically and should be in the shake up. ACUPPA has good form. Piere Strydom rides for Alec Laird. HEROD THE GREAT will be finding more at the finish if recapturing his best form.

RACE 6:MR 84 Hcp (F & M) 1600m Bend

MAJESTIC LEGEND (Charles Laird/Anton Marcus) has good form and she will be finding her feet late. IDITAROD is holding form well but has been fading late. In need of a rest? BUTTONWOOD TREE looks to be the better of Mike Azzie's two runner. Stable jockey Gavin Lerena, who is currently in good form, rides. She has not seen the track since October and may need the run. AUTUMN SPLENDOUR ran a nice post maiden run last time. Looks likely to improve further. The second of Mike Azzie's runners WATER NYMPH has been rested for three months. She ran well in her post maiden and could just sneak into the minor placings.

RACE 7:MR 69 Hcp (F & M) 1600m Bend

A number of PA and Pick Six tickets could be blown away in this race. WALEY'S CAMP is very consistent. He was interfered with last time and could not get a clear run home. She can make amends today. If wet her chances would be enhanced. CHESTNUT CRUISER also has nice form and was running on last time over 1600m. Has won over 1400m. GREET THE DAY may be better suited to 1400m but Piere Strydom rides after a few rides absence. WOMAN OF THE YEAR needs to repeat her penultimate run. She has placed over this distance. Put reserve runner in Pick Six instead.) ATHENA GOLD is capable of making the frame but is drawn widest of a large field.

RACE 8:Maiden Plate (F & M) 1400m Bend

FUSELAGE has had two seconds to date. One was over tonight's distance and looks to be the one to beat. Was running on  last time. CROOKS CORNER made a nice debut last time and looks to have more to come. Will be running on. DESOLATE VIEW  will be better this distance can be expected to deliver her best work late. OXBOW LAKE made a fair debut last time and is certainly worth a shout. Watch the R900 000 purchase AFRICAN LOVE who makes her debut.
