RACE 1:Maiden Juvenile Plate 1000m Straight

TALLEYRAND made a nice debut last ti,me. He did set a good pace but found himself hemmed in late. His pace could see him win this one. Watch the betting on the first timer ALTELEKKER. FELINE PRINCE has had two decent runs but raced green last time. Another two first timers worth considering are POWER FLOW and MODENA'S ACT.

RACE 2:Maiden Juvenile Plate (F) 1200m Straight

SLEEK QUEEN was running on this C & D last time when making her debut. She finished a very good second. Anton Marcus rides for Dominic Zaki. Watch the first timer EMBLEM OF INTRIGUE. DUTY TO WIN is improving with each run and can earn. MISS UMA showed something on debut last time when totally ignored in the betting while AMICA is well bred but will improve over distance.

RACE 3:Maiden Plate (F & M) 1200m Straight

Not a strong race. LADY MERE improved last time this C & D. Not a confident choice but can improve even further today. I DON'T KNOW has run two thirds and a second in her three career runs but does not seen able to feature late to win. She is still learning and can win one soon. SYLVANETTE was coughing last time when running well below her best. She was sent off as favourite and must be given another chance. Two first timers that may find places are QUICK SINGLE and WILD AT HEART. Watch the betting.

RACE 4:Maiden Plate (F & M) 1200m Straight

PERFECT RAINBOW has run only three times, twice over this C & D where she has finished two good seconds. She should be involved in the finish in this field. CELESTIAL FLAG will be doing her best work late and goes this far for the first time. SEA PASSAGE raced green on debut last time. The extra 40m from her last start at Turffontein will suit.  MON AMI MISTY (Charles Laird/Anton Marcus) is battling to win. She has to start improving soon. Include in the Pick Six. WESTA made a fair debut and looks likely to improve as well.

RACE 5:Apprentice MR 80 Hcp 1400m Straight

NOMAFASHINI is consistent and will be running on. SHOWROOM has done enough in recent starts to suggest that he could pick up another race soon. MZINGELI has lost some form but has faced stronger and can pop up if finding his best form again. GLADIUS ran well last time before fading late against weaker last time. Still in with a good shout. OFFICER CLASS is holding form well but appears better suited to shorter.

RACE 6:MR 90 Hcp 1000m Straight

CHALLENGER QUAY rises in class but has looked good in her two post maiden starts. He showed good speed last time and must be a strong challenger over this C & D where he won his maiden three runs back. DIEGO has not run since May last year. His last two runs were against far stronger. He loves this distance and has won at this track over the distance in his only start here.Certainly above average but may need the run. OPENING NIGHT has also faced stronger and has a good shout. SHALAKO is holding form well and will be finding late. SECOND WORLD has more to do to win but can earn some prize.

RACE 7:MR 73 Hcp 1000m Straight

SNAZZY JAZZ has been campaigning in Kimberley but runs very well this C & D and must be considered. is not out of it this league. SAINT STEPHEN has been a honest performer in recent times and must always be respected.  EL KAPITAINE disappointed last time. All four wins have been over the distance. RIFLEMAN needs to be watched after an improved run last time. DEMOCRATIC MAN should be running on. Johnny Geroudis rides today. AUGUST EIGHT loves the distance but may prefer sand.

RACE 8:MR 76 Hcp (F & M) 1200m Straight

SOLAR VOYAGER will more than likely be running on late. She runs well this C & D and should be a factor. MAGIC PENNY is improving  and can have a shout with Piere Strydom riding. RIVER MOY (Charles Laird/Anton Marcus) won her maiden last time and may be ready to win again. KISSING COUSIN will have more to do for the win. She has gone off since winning her first two starts. Three subsequent runs without a place.  DILYS DELIGHT is battling for her second win. Can place at best.

RACE 9:Maiden Plate (F & M) 1600m Straight

Piere Strydom rides SPICE CLUB who could get it right today. She has had two improved runs, both this C & D in her last two starts and has taken the number two box on both occasions. ARABIAN JET has the form to challenge. Anton Marcus takes the ride for Dominic Zaki. These two should fight out the finish. LET'S TANGO must have a claim on a much improved latest effort when just being touched off over the distance in a workriders at Turffontein. STARWOOD has proved expensive to follow. Her only hope is that she is from the Mike De Kock stable. AMARILLO runs for twenty third time as a maiden but her last two have shown some life.
