RACE 1:Maiden Juvenile Plate 1200m Straight

GRAND FUSION has had two good runs and should go close. Keep an eye on the first timer IN CHARGE. ZEE CAT was bumped on debut last time. Chance to make amends. BALLERINA GIRL looks a likely improver. UPSTAGE is another first timer that could be worth following.

RACE 2:Maiden Plate 1200m Straight

PIVOTAL SUPPORT has had two close up seconds in both of his runs to date. The filly BIKINI BEACH was running on last time and can improve further. The balance of the field make very little appeal. The following could find minor place positions:  RUN RORKUS RUN; ROBOR ET DIGNITAS; and MILLENIUM MIST who may improve with the blinkers taken off.

RACE 3:Maiden Plate 2400m Bend

VIEWOFTHEPARK has some very consistent form and is never too far back. XAMA FIRST showed much improvement last time on her moderate debut two runs back. Will be running on. RUN FOR FAME was running on strongly when just failing to catch Inverness last time. That was her best run to date and she can go very close if repeating. RESTLESS SPIRIT is never too far back. BRACING AIR has fair Cape Town form and he could prefer PE.

RACE 4:MR 83 Hcp (F & M) 2400m Bend

HARBOUR LIGHT has won her last two but last ran in early December. She is well suited to the C & D and will be running on. She will have stiff competition from WHAT ME WORRY has excellent form and has some work to do at the weights to reverse the finish when HARBOUR LIGHT beat her in December. TREE FLAG has only been out of the top three twice in thirteen starts with four wins. Go close. TREASURED EMBLEM is slowly coming back to form. FRENCH PEARL  has some decent Cape Town form and must be respected in PE.

RACE 5:MR 104 Hcp 1600m Bend

TIME AND LOVE has won two in a row and has a very good chance of making it three. Will be running on. Stable companion VANGELIS also goes for the hat trick but has a huge mass to carry. SECRET CHAMBER is C & D suited and will be running on from a handy position. He was interfered with last time which could have cost him a closer finish. HUCKLEBERRY is never too far back and is the third of Gavin Smith's runner with a good chance in this race. Stable jockey rides. PIRATES GOLD is better than his form suggests. Consider.

RACE 6:Lady's Pendant (Listed) (R120 000) 1200m Straight

Cape Town trainers could have a shout in this feature. Daryll Hodgson sends out the useful SERVILIA who has faced some stronger sorts. Joey Ramsden should be respected in this field. He sends out SEAL OF APPROVAL  whose form could see her come good in this field as well. She shows good pace and has the ability to stay on. The third Cape Town trained filly with a chance is the Justin Snaith inmate SLEEK 'N SASSY who raced handy last time but finished fourth. That was after she had won her previous two starts. Local runner LIZZY'S HERITAGE is not too consistent but did run on to win last time. MISS VAR is fast and she can place.

RACE 7:MR 90 Hcp 1200m Straight

MILLER TIME has the class to win despite the mass he has to carry. Stable companion SNOW DRIFT has some fair runs in Cape Town and could be one to challenge. LT SAMSON is not consistent and may need shorter but a chance in this field. LIBERATED is never too far back. BARTOLINI is C & D suited and may have needed his last start.

RACE 8:MR 73 Hcp 1200m Straight

BALLANDO ran a good post maiden last time and appears to have much scope for improvement. ANOTHER MISTRAL is ultra consistent and should be in the shake up.. He was running on last time. Chance on that. KING MENES is finding form again. TITUS ALONE needs to repeat earlier form but can place. NOMANDLA is battling for his second win but has some fair form that could see him place.
