RACE 1:Maiden Plate (4-Year-Olds +) 1600m Straight

BOHEMIAN WOOD has only two placed runs this C & D to suggest that he could win a weak opener for the day. Current form is poor but this is a weak field. MORNING PATROL is battling to win his maiden but will prefer today's shorter trip. SHARP SHARP had two decent runs before a miserable latest effort. CAPEL CREEK is battling to win his maiden and should still be battling after today. Can place at best. EXPLORE TOMORROW tends to fade but may place.

RACE 2:Workriders Maiden Plate (4-Year-Olds +) 1400m Straight

BEEBEEJAY will probably prefer being back over shorter. John Nel rides. LOOPY DE LAUPE has had two very good runs in his last two. Should fight this one out. CAPPIE has only his penultimate run to recommend him. CAESOUR'S HEIGHTS was very fast last time when showing very good improvement. AMARILLO has fair recent form and may push for a place.

RACE 3:Qualified Maiden Plate (F & M) 1400m Straight

NATIONAL LANE has been sent out as favourite in her last three runs but failed to deliver on each occasion. Form is consistent and is C & D suited. Should be hard to beat. PASCHA showed excellent improvement last time when just failing to hold on. BIT O' SUNSHINE is never too far back. ELEGANT STRIDE ran well last time when finishing third despite not having had the best of the running that day. NONTANDA has claims on her better KZN form.

RACE 4:Qualified Maiden Plate (F & M) 1000m Straight

TASTEFUL has improved in her last two. She has only placed this C & D. Apprentice allowance may assist. PECAN WHISTLE has more consistency and the blinkers go on today. BLUE MIRAGE ran her best race last time. That was her only place but faded late. LADY MERE also has a chance on her latest effort. She also faded late but after having shown good early pace. HEADLINER must be respected and could be involved at the finish if running on.

RACE 5:MR 62 Hcp (F & M) 1200m Straight

REV COUNTER is only a none-time winner but she has shown a form return in her last two efforts. SARA SMILLIE has very dull form but has shown some better form in her previous starts to suggest that she could make some impression today. CHASING STARS is slowly coming to hand and must be watched for further improvement. LANGKAWI lost two lengths at the start last time in her post maiden run. She did not disgrace in finishing less than five lengths behind the winner Queen's Tester.  MAHHALA won her maiden at the eighteenth attempt last time. May need to confirm.

RACE 6:MR 66 Hcp 1200m Straight

SAINT STEPHEN is holding form well and has faced stronger. Has been finding a decent finish of late and could be the one to follow. PERSONAL PHANTOM has only won over the distance and has good current form. Will be finding late. EL MATADOR ran on strongly late last time when showing good improvement this C & D. ADVANCE CALL has steady form and is never too far behind. ACE OF HEARTS will have to repeat his last run when holding on to win over 1400m at this track.

RACE 7:MR 65 Hcp 1600m Straight

BURN UP was running on when finishing a close up third in her post maiden effort. That was over today's C & D and he should have every chance on that run. WHISTLEVENT also ran on well this C & D last time when showing very good improvement. HAVANA runs well this C & D and is improving. STAMPING GROUND may be ready to challenge on some improved recent runs. RAMBLING BOY has not shown for a while but may be ready to improve.

RACE 8:MR 66 Hcp 1600m Straight

VICTORY BELT is very consistent. He has only won this C & D and should be the one to beat on current form. Piere Strydom rides. COACH may be one to watch for the upset and can improve. MARLBORO BEAT should have claims on an improved latest effort this C & D. More to do for the win but can place at best. ISLAND RANSOM was not disgraced on her post maiden effort and may place. MHOLI held on well to win his maiden last time. May need to confirm.

RACE 9:MR 62 Hcp (F & M) 1600m Straight

LAPLAND PALACE has placed this C & D and was making a return to racing after a three month rest last time. That was at Flamingo park but her form looks no worse than the rest of the field.  SHUFFLES has won this C & D and this could hold for something. SINGLE MINDED has shown some improvement in her last two. SUPREME LECTURE is never too far behind and has a claim on that. BEAUTIFUL CONEXION loses ground at the start but can run on.
