Another Grade 1 winner bought at JRHA July Select Sale, Next Sale in July!

Nakayama Festa, 4-y-o colt by Stay Gold who was bought at the 2007 JRHA Select Sale, won G1/Takarazuka Kinen on June 27th at Hanshin, to become the second G1 winner emerged from the yearling session of JRHA Select Sale, after Danon Chantilly, who bought at the yearling session of JRHA Sale in 2008 and won G1/NHK Mile Cup only seven weeks ago.

Bred by Arai Bokujo at Mukawa, Nakayama Fest was bought by Shinichi Izumi for 10,000,000yen at the yearling session of JRHA Select Sale in 2007, and sent to Yoshitaka Ninomiya's barn at Miho Training Center. The colt by Stay Gold was unbeaten through two starts at two, including the impressive win of G3/Tokyo Sports Hai 2-y-o Stakes. However, his hot temperament harmed his performance at three, when he managed to pick up only one win through six starts.

Nakayama Festa, out of Dear Wink by Tight Spots, has become four-years-old and matured well mentally this year, and won LR/Metropolitan Stakes on April 24th at Tokyo, which was his seasonal debut, easily in prior to competing in the G1/Takarazuka Kinen.

It is reported Nakayama Festa, who took his first Stakes with the Premier Grade, beating strong field, which included Buena Vista, winner of four Graded One stakes and was runner-up to Dar Re Mi in G1/Sheema Classic in March, Dream Journey, who tried to complete the back-to-back victory of this race, Jaguar Mail, the winner of G1/Emperor's Cup in May, and Logi Universe, who won G1/Japan Derby in 2009, will travel to France to run G1/Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe on October 4th at Longchamp.

The next JRHA Select July Sale is on July 12th and 13th at Northern Horse Park. This is an opportunity to find another Danon Chantilly and Nakayama Festa. The catalogue contains 10 yearlings and 7 foals by Fuji Kiseki (pictured), sire of Danon Chantilly, and 2 yearlings and 5 foals by Stay Gold, sire of Nakayama Festa.
