AMBLEWAY READY TO RUN DRAFT
HIGHLANDS STUD FARM 2011
It is that time of year when we are preparing a draft from Highlands Farms
for the Ready To Run Sale on Sunday 6 November at Germiston. These 13 horses are
all in work and were galloped at the Summerhill Ready To Run Gallops on the 14
October 2011. Of these horses, 2 were selected by the judges to be among their
top three colts - lot 116 (Kip Elser from the USA and Graham Hawkins) and lot
170 (Joey Ramsden). All of the horses worked extremely well and deserve to be
taken seriously …….
The following horses are at Ambleway and can be viewed here at the farm
before they go to the sale on Thursday 3 November:

Lot 170 - WENDYS MAN is a neat well balanced colt by Black Minnalouche out of
the speedy Argentinian mare Wendy's. The dam won 5 sprints and is a half sister
to many graded winners and the 2nd dam Wally was the champion sprinter in the
Argentine, winning 19 races!

Lot 177 - THE AGAPO has a superb Brazilian pedigree being by Alphabet Soup
and his dam Aliysa won 5 graded races in Brazil and in the USA up to a mile. He
is a typical sprinter type being short coupled and neat.

Lot 116 - GALLIPOLI is a well grown mature son of Daylami out of the Northern
Guest mare Northern Duel that has already produced 3 black type runners from 5

He is very well topped with a lovely low action on the track.

loves his work.

good mover.

Harry Hotspur. This colt is working very well and looks to be precocious and
fast! He put up an exceptional gallop.

Lot 1 - BAY OF CALM is a filly typical of her sire National Assembly. She is
out of a Red Ransom mare and is a first foal. She is racy and comes from an
exceptionally strong third dam who produced at least 8 black type winners!
Definitely a racehorse in the making.

Kings mare Ive Got It. We prepared her daughter IRISH MAID by Dynasty last year
and she was nominated for the Champion Juvenile Award in PE where she ran second
in the Slipper Stakes. A very strong filly and is only the dams third foal!

Lot 88 - MICHIGAN is a robust sprinter type by Windrush out of the speedy
mare Lake Snowy. We sold his brother, SNOW SPECIAL, a two time winner a few
years back. He has amazing bone and muscle development and loves his work.

Lot 160 - GANESH is a tall athletic colt by Spectrum out of the Pulpit mare
we schooled for Mr Beck-TEMPLE GODDESS. The mare won over a mile and has
produced 2 winners from as many foals so far! She is closely related to
