RACE 1:Maiden Plate 1200m Straight

KINGS NEWS ran a far better race last time when setting a good pace. ROYAL TREASURE also ran an improved race last time despite a saddle slip. NOAH FOREVER must have a very good chance on his two efforts to date. Stayed on in both races and shows good early speed. BALTIC ICE improved by twelve lengths last time. Respect. FRANKIE VALLI has shown good improvement in his last two starts. Is knocking on the door. Watch for improvement to come from BRAZADO.

RACE 2:Maiden Plate (F & M) 2000m Straight

AZCAN is the form horse of the race and looks to be getting better all the time. The one to beat. FAUSTINA improved by nine lengths last time. Coming back to best again. POLAR JET has steady form both in Cape Town and in PE where she made her debut local at Arlington. Could prefer this track. BIG GINGER is seldom far back but lacks extra late. TIZASMARTDOLLAR never showed on debut. Could improve this afternoon.

RACE 3:Maiden Plate (F & M) 1400m Bend

CAHIRA  ran a very good second this C & D before being run out of it. The blinkers go on this afternoon. Should be involved in the finish despite the draw. TELITONTHEMOUNTAIN ran an improved race when making her PE debut last time. Glen Hatt rides for his Joey Ramsden yard. Strong chance. JOSE GOLD has yet to run a bad race in five starts and has placed second on three occasions. Her maiden win should not be too far away in coming. SMART PLAY has had a few decent starts but will have to repeat her penultimate run. TAMARACK may be losing form. Chance if at best.

RACE 4:MR 73 Hcp 1400m Bend

ROYAL TERRACE will be running on and has the form to win. Has faced slightly stronger in his last two starts. MR VINDALOO ran on well to win this C & D at his last start. Good form as well before that. THE BERRYMAN will also be running on and has such good form at present that it would be unwise to ignore his chances. Has won this C & D. ROMERO is one that may improve a bit along with stable companion, BIG DADDY.

RACE 5:MR 90 Hcp 1400m Bend

TOMCAT has won his last four starts and has faced similar fields in his last two. Can win again. REFINED IN FIRE has been running on in his last two starts. Has raced against stronger and must have a shout. OZYMANDIAS has yet to win in PE but his form suggests that he should win a race here soon. MISTER GONE is never too far back and could soon be rewarded for consistency. WAGING WAR runs well this C & D and could be the stable elect.

RACE 6:Graduation Plate 1600m Bend

ACT OF SUPREMEACY has faced far stronger than this and looks to be the one to follow. Runs on well and could be the best bet on today's card. Stable companion RUSSIAN MIG make a race of it but has five lengths to make up on his stable companion and only has a 0.5kg turnaround.  DESERT RAT may improve and should fill a placing if at best.  TIGER CAT has placed this C & D and has a place claim as well. RUNNING TIDE must have a chance with Gavin Lerena riding for Gavin Smith.

RACE 7:Fairview Merchants (MR) 1200m Straight

COPPER PARADE has raced against far stronger in Cape Town. Joey Ramsden raids along with his stable jockey, Glen Hatt. The one to beat in this field. ICEMBERG has good PE form. Will be running on. Felix Coetzee rides for Justin Snaith. Loves this C & D. THREE CAPTAINS takes on stronger but could score at the weights. Will be finding extra late. The other Justin Snaith runner, APOLO GREY has been running on in his last two starts. Good form this C & D.  BOB 'N WEAVE is 1kg better off with ICEMBERG for a 2.5 length defeat the last time they met. Will battle to reverse that result.

RACE 8:Novice Plate 1200m Straight

AFRICAN ALLIANCE has decent post maiden form and did stay on last time. Felix Coetzee rides for Justin Snaith. Has scope for improvement. MACARTHUR PARK is improving again and has only won at this C & D. Was running on this C & D last time when finishing a good second. Ignore the last run of GUN POINT. Prefer at this track. Good form this C & D. VAROMA tends to fade but consider with Gavin Lerena riding for Gavin Smith. SOUTH RANGER is coming to hand but has a tendency to fade late over 1200m.
