RACE 1:Maiden Juvenile Plate 1200m Straight

POLE STAR looks very hard to beat on his debut run last time. The extra should suit. DISCO AL makes his debut. Watch the betting. DUKE OF DESTINY has had three fair runs and has been quite consistent. DOUBLE NELSON will have benefited from his debut run last time and will have COMMODORE PETE.

RACE 2:Maiden Plate 1200m Straight

I quite like the looks of the Jet Master first timer, NORDIC JET. Watch the betting. NOORDHOEKLIGHTNING made a nice debut last time when staying on. Should improve. WING AND A PRAYER was unlucky last time and should improve. Is C & D suited. TIGER'S PLACE did not show last time. Chance on earlier form. Another first timer to consider is SAGE OF SIVANA.

RACE 3:Maiden Plate (F & M) 1800m Bend

IT'S EXCITING has good form despite losing ground at the start. She does run on and must have a good shout. KISS AND RIDE has been fading in her last two. Had been running on before that. Never too far back. ATLANTIC BEACH was unlucky last time. She was bumped at a crucial stage of the race and never went on with it after that. ACONCAGUA improved by twenty lengths in her second start last time. Respect. EUROPE TO AFRICA has good enough form to be included in the Pick Six. Fades though.

SELECTIONS: 1st - IT'S EXCITING * (1); 2nd - KISS AND RIDE (4); 3rd - ATLANTIC BEACH (2); 4th - ACONCAGUA (11); 5th - EUROPE TO AFRICA (3)

RACE 4:MR 70 Hcp (F & M) 1600m Bend

RAZZLE DAZZLE ROSE lost four lengths at the start when going down by only six lengths in the Grade 2 Fillies Guineas last time. This field is not of the same calibre and she should be the one to beat. HALFWAY TO HEAVEN ran well in her post maiden last time. Chance on that run. PLUSH must be considered on an excellent improvement last time when running on. VICKY VIOLET could be improving again. SHIMMERING JET tends to weaken.

RACE 5:MR 78 Hcp 1400m Bend

PERGAMON ALTER takes a huge drop in class for this race. Current form may not be that great but he certainly must have a chance against these despite the 62.5kg he has to carry. VIRTUOSO is never too far back but has a weak finish. WESTERN COUNT loves this C & D and has shown ability before but is perhaps a bit unreliable. KHYBER CROSSING has shown some improvement in his last two starts. MORE OF ME has moderate post maiden form but may improve.

SELECTIONS: 1st - PERGAMON ALTER * (1); 2nd - VIRTUOSO (3); 3rd - WESTERN COUNT (4); 4th - KHYBER CROSSING (2); 5th - MORE OF ME (7)

RACE 6:MR 72 Hcp 1000m Straight

 GARETH GREY won very easily this C & D last time. Has every chance of repeating that in this race. FLIGHT OF THE PHOENIX finished second to GARETH GREY last time. The margin was 2.25 lengths. He is 0.5kg worse off though and should not be able to reverse the margin. BERKLEY may need to find more but has won and placed this C & D. RAGING BULL may be improving but watch rather over 1200m.VARDASHIAN could be better over the 1000m trip. Watch. One actually wonders why he has been racing over 1200m and 1400m.

RACE 7:MR 71 Hcp 1800m Bend

LATIN MAGIC will be running on but has a very bad habit of losing  ground at the start. Nevertheless consider as he likes to run on. DANDYMAN CAN has steady post maiden form. BIG BIRD has a chance in this field. NOORDHOEK HERO could be improving again. SOUL SINGER won this C & D last time when running on well. Battled for that second win.

RACE 8:Maiden Plate 1800m Bend

DOLLAR BILL BLUES has the blinkers on today. Ran on strongly when just missing out by a short head. CROWN OF GOLD has not been disgraced in his four starts to date. Was running on in his last two starts. WOTTA SMASHER has steady form but lacks finish. GREEN TRACTOR has shown potential but needs to put it all together. AFORE THE FLOW has shown steady improvement in each of his three runs to date. One to be respected.
