Peter Moody has decided to rest Black Caviar after her hard fought win in the Grade 1 1000m sprint on Saturday and cancel her trip to Dubai.
“There's nothing wrong with her. To the contrary, she's at the top of her game,” said Moody to an Australian Newspaper, the Herald Sun.
“But it's all geared around having her at her peak when she flies across to England for the Diamond Jubilee Stakes,” he said.
She will fly out 3 weeks prior to the race and is likely to race twice more in Australia before the English trip.
The renamed Diamond Jubilee (formerly Golden Jubilee) takes special significance this year due to the Diamond Jubilee of the Queen and Black Caviar will no doubt be the highlight of Royal Ascot.
