South African Apprentice Kegan de Melo will be representing South Africa in the QAJIR (Qatar Apprentice Jockey Invitation Race) next week, 28th Feb, 29th Feb and 1st March 2012. Anyone wishing to watch these and other races live, can click on the home page of the website on these days from approximately 2:45pm South African time each day.
De Melo will represent South Africa among sixteen riders from fifteen countries: Australia, Bahrain, Hong Kong, India, Japan, Macau, Malaysia, Mauritius, New Zealand, Oman, Qatar (two), Saudi Arabia, Singapore, South Africa and UAE.
The Championship is comprised of three races (one race each day) at Al Rayyan, and jockeys will be guaranteed at least two rides.
Kegan de Melo will be riding in the 4th race on Tuesday 28th February at approximately 4:20pm SA time, the 1st race on Wednesday 29th February at approximately 2:45pm SA time and the 3rd race on Thursday 1st March at approximately 3:50pm.
