LITTLE PEARL (Justin Snaith/Richard Fourie) was finishing strongly this C & D when going down by a short head. Has the credentials to win. SOLOMONS WALL (Dean Kannemeyer/Karl Neisius) makes his debut. Keep an eye on the betting. KING O DREAMS has some fair form and may improve. KIRTLING TOWERS (Karis Teetan/Karis Teetan) improved by ten lengths last time. Respect. NEW MOON RISING (Dean Kannemeyer) had a fair debut last time. May improve.

RACE 3:Maiden Plate (F & M) 1600m Bend

SILVA CHANT (Brett Crawford/Karis Teetan) has consistent form but tends to lack finish. Runs well this C & D. CHIEF PIGEON (Glen Kotzen/Grant Van Niekerk) finds a good finish and should go close in this field. SULLY' LANDING has been improving and is C & D suited. CLOCKWINDER has been close up in her last two starts. Karl Neisius has the ride. CHINESE EYES fades late but is never far off them. Richard Fourie rides.

TESTING THE WIND is C & D suited and will be running on. FIRST FAVOUR is not that consistent but has run the odd very good race of late. Runs well this C & D. LOVELY LOLLY (Justin Snaith) does not finish well but she appears to be one that should improve. Keep an eye open for that improvement. Apprentice allowance of 4kg should help. SPRING BEAUTY (Glen Kotzen/Grant Van Niekerk) is never far back. Not sure to prefer the shorter trip though! DANAVANO has had three fair recent runs but also lacks finish.

RACE 5:Pinnacle Stakes 1000m Straight

CAP ALRIGHT (Justin Snaith/Richard Fourie) sets a good pace and should go close in this field. Has faced slightly stronger. RABATTACHE (Glen Puller/Aldo Domeyer) has excellent form this C & D. Trainer and jockey are also in form. Has raced in feature races. Should go close. FOREIGN SOVEREIGN is another who has very good form this C & D and is improving once again. GENERAL ASSEMBLY will be running on and has the form this C & D to earn. LOS COLMOS (Mike Bass/Bernard Fayd'Herbe) has not run since December and may prefer the shorter trip for this afternoon.

RACE 6:MR 68 Hcp (F & M) 1200m Straight

A tricky field. Go as wide as possible in your exotics. LIGHT BLUE (Dean Kannemeyer/Karl Neisius) drops a bit in class but tends to weaken late. Can sneak in in this MR 68 handicap. DESERT BREEZE (Glen Kotzen/Grant Van Niekerk) is never far back but tends to fade. Must have a shout this field. PHALABORWA EXPRESS ran on to win this C & D last time. May repeat. POINTING AT A STAR (Justin Snaith) ran on to win her maiden last time. May need to confirm. LOVING CUP (Glen Puller) has not won in a while but has a shout in this tricky field.

SELECTIONS: 1st - LIGHT BLUE * (1); 2nd - DESERT BREEZE (9); 3rd - PHALABORWA EXPRESS (13); 4th - POINTING AT A STAR (2); 5th - LOVING CUP (6)

RACE 7:Stormsvlei Mile (Listed) 1600m Bend

GOLDEN DAWN (Glen Kotzen/Karis Teetan) won a feature race last time by just over a length. Is 0.5kg worse off than DANCE FOR GOLD. Will be running on and should still be able to finish ahead of DANCE FOR GOLD (Yogas Govender/Bernard Fayd'Herbe) who rarely runs a bad race and will be running on. Is unbeaten this C & D (2 from 2). FULL REGALIA (Joey Ramsden/Raymond Danielson) has the form but this will be far tougher. DUMANI (Justin Snaith) will also have it all to do here. RIVATORIO is off form but has been up against stronger.

RACE 8:Grade 3 Winter Classic 1800m Bend

WHY WORRY (Justin Snaith/Richard Fourie) was running on in a the East Cape Derby last time. Form is good and could be a threat in this field. LAURIE'S GOLD (Mike Bass/Bernard Fayd'Herbe) has won his last two, both over 1400m. Should prefer the extra. FINAL BUTTON also goes this far for the first time. HILL FIFTY FOUR has won his last three starts. Finishes well and despite taking on stronger must have a shout. SILVER HAVEN (Joey Ramsden/Raymond Danielson) has not won in a while but could be improving.

RACE 9:MR 96 Hcp 1400m Bend

JET INTO THE WIND (Mike Bass) has excellent form in his nine starts this C &D (3-5-1). Very good chance. SHIMMERING FLAME (Mike Bass/Bernard Fayd'Herbe) also has very good form this C & D and current form is very good. Must have a shout as well. LORD PARAMOUNT (Dean Kannemeyer/Karl Neisius) also loves this C & D. Will be running on and should improve even further. LANCELIN (Mike Bass) runs well this C & D. Should be the pace setter for SHIMMERING FLAME. Has an apprentice claim of 4kg. Could hold on. AMBER PALACE (Justin Snaith/Richard Fourie) must be included in as many exotics as possible.
