RACE 1:Maiden Juvenile Plate (F) 1200m Straight

INFLORESCENCE looked good in her debut last time until she faded late. Was unfancied at 25/1 that day and is unlikely to start at those odds this afternoon. Watch for serious improvement. FLASHING STAR has had two fair runs and should improve as well. MARRY ME MULLINS was also moderate on debut and should improve. SACRED CALL hardly showed on debut last time. MISS AFRICA faded on debut last time. Could place.

RACE 2:Maiden Juvenile Plate 1200m Straight

WAY CLEAR found extra late last time to finish half a length back in second. That was his second consecutive second. Placed second this C & D two runs back. SYNDICATOR has finished third in both career starts to date. Improved this C & D last time. WOOKIE MASTER was green on debut last time. Should improve. TUSCON TREE makes his debut. Watch the betting. MERLOT also makes his debut and is well bred.

RACE 3:Maiden Plate (F & M) 1200m Straight

DAFFODIL DAY has had two excellent seconds in her last two starts, both this C & D. Has to go close. NATIONAL FOREST is never far behind. Should be running on again and could find the 1200m more to her liking. MYOSOTIS was running on over 1000m on debut last time. Should improve as well. LA SALLE had her best run last time when racing over this C & D. Finished very strongly that day. NUNS NARRATIVE has improved in her last two starts. Respect.

RACE 4:Conditions Plate (F & M) 1600m Bend

ILLUMIERE loves this C & D and should be running on late. She has faced slightly stronger and looks to be well weighted. FANCY PARK has only been beaten once this C & D over four runs. Should also be running on but did not show in a feature race last time. HURRICANE KATRINA won her last two when running on at Arlington over shorter. May prefer the 1400m. ROYAL WAGER is never too far back but may prefer further. ROSETTE also has not won in a while but can earn a small payout cheque.

RACE 5:MR 66 Hcp (F & M) 1200m Straight

LYDIA LOPOKOVO has been racing in Cape Town and makes her PE debut. Drops a bit in class and has won over the distance. EXCELLENT COVE also drops a bit in class and she did win her maiden this C & D. Can do well this field. MENORAH has shown some improvement since moving from Gauteng. SECRET QUEST has yet to show over this distance. Prefer over 1000m. Does run on though. WINDY WHISTLE loves this C & D. Has a chance if running on, which she normally does.

RACE 6:MR 104 Hcp 1200m Straight

BOB 'N WEAVE is 1kg better off for a 1.75 length beating by TIC TAK TOE over 1400m last time. The latter prefers further. BOB 'N WEAVE has very good form this C & D and should be doing his best work late. BOIS DE VAR has won his last two starts with two good finishes. Both were over this C & D. Should be right there. ICEMBERG may have won a feature last time had he not run into trouble late on. THREE CAPTAINS did not show last time. Chance on previous more consistent form. VILLANDRY did not show in a feature last time. Apprentice claim of 4kg will help.

RACE 7:MR 78 Hcp 1200m Straight

IMPOSING MODEL was sent off on Friday as 33/10 favourite, but finished an uninspiring sixth, five lengths off the winner. The fact that he started as favourite means that he was well fancied. He could be the one this afternoon. PEMBERLEY is never far off them and his record in five starts this C & D speaks for itself (2-1-2). Has not run since December and his fitness needs to be taken on trust. REGAL MAN ran on to win over shorter last time. Chance again. Has won over the distance twice before. HAIL THE DUKE has raced against stronger and must have a chance despite the 61.5kg he has to shoulder. COUNT DUMANI is never far off them and should be respected.

RACE 8:Maiden Plate 1200m Straight

QUI SECRET has improved drastically in his last three starts. Looks to be the one to beat on that form. EBRO finished like an express train last time when failing to win by a neck. What makes this run even more meritorious is the fact that he lost three lengths at the start. GOAL IN MIND has yet to show but appears to have some improvement to come. CHERRY STAND did not show over 1600m last time. Should run better this distance. PHOTO SHOOT showed very good improvement last time. Respect.
