The following is a summary of decisions that were made by the Hong Kong Jockey Club Licensing Committee at their meeting held on Monday:

1. The Committee:

1.1 agreed to grant, subject to a satisfactory medical examination and an undertaking to arrive in Hong Kong by no later than Sunday, 26 August 2012, a Club Jockey’s licence to each of the following jockeys for the full 2012/2013 racing season:

1.2 agreed to grant, subject to a satisfactory medical examination and an undertaking to arrive in Hong Kong by no later than Sunday, 26 August 2012, a Club Jockey’s licence for the 2012/2013 racing season to the following jockeys for the period 16 July 2012 until 1 February 2013, both dates inclusive:

1.3 agreed to grant, subject to a satisfactory medical examination, a Club Jockey’s licence for the 2012/2013 racing season to the following jockey for the period 1 November 2012 until 31 March 2013, both dates inclusive:

2.1 agreed to grant, subject to a satisfactory medical examination, a Freelance Jockey's licence for the 2012/2013 racing season to each of the following applicants:

2.2 directed Management to inform Freelance Jockey Jacky C K Tong that he be advised that his overall race riding performance during the current season remains of concern and that should his riding performance not improve significantly during the 2012/2013 racing season, he may not be granted a further licence.

3. The Committee:

3.1 agreed to grant, subject to a satisfactory medical examination, an Apprentice Jockey's licence for the 2012/2013 racing season to each of the following applicants:

Alvin K C Ng (allocated trainer: Dennis C H Yip)

3.2 agreed to grant, subject to a satisfactory medical examination, an Apprentice Jockey’s licence to ride in races in Hong Kong to Dicky LUI Cheuk Yin for the 2012/2013 racing season, allocated to Trainer Ricky P F Yiu, provided that he is not permitted to ride in any race at Happy Valley Racecourse until permission is granted by Management.

The Committee approved the application to retain a Stable Jockey for the 2012/2013 racing season submitted by Trainer John Moore.

5.1 agreed to grant a Trainer's licence for the 2012/2013 racing season to each of the applicants listed below, subject to a satisfactory medical examination being undertaken and the signing of an agreement with the Club:

6.2 agreed to extend the Acting Assistant Trainer’s licence previously issued to Gabriel S T Lee by Management for the period 24 June 2012 until the conclusion of the current racing season, allocated to Trainer David Hall’s stable and agreed to promote Mr Lee to the position of Assistant Trainer from Head Lad for the 2012/2013 racing season, allocated to Mr Hall’s stable.

6.3 agreed to defer the allocation of an Assistant Trainer to Trainer Sean Woods’ stable until a date later this month for the 2012/2013 racing season.

6.4 agreed to grant an Assistant Trainer II licence to Joe L K Tai for the 2012/2013 racing season, allocated to Trainer Ricky P F Yiu, and directed Management to advise Mr Tai in writing that a further Assistant Trainer II licence will not be granted beyond the expiration of his licence for the 2012/2013 racing season.
