AVONTUUR ACQUIRES J&B MET WINNER AS BROODMARE

Avontuur Estate is proud to announce the acquisition of the majority shareholding in one of South Africa's top race mares, River Jetez, winner of 11 races including the prestigious J & B Met in Cape Town in 2010 and full sister to legendary champion race horse, Pocket Power.

After a further career in Dubai, Singapore and the US where she did South Africa proud, she is currently resting up in Gauteng and will be arriving in Cape Town around the 23rd of July. Plans are to have her visit VAR this season and we look forward to watching her progeny grown up on the farm and continue their dam's good record in years to come.

A special thank you to Marsh Shirtliff who was instrumental in the purchase and we welcome Cedric and Barbara Am to the Estate as our partners in this fantastic horse. We are all thrilled with the purchase and cannot wait to add her to our band of winning brood mares which include SA Sprinter of the Year, Val de Ra, Baltic Beauty, A Daughter's Legacy, Sarabande and Minelli - and obviously watch her offspring burn up the tracks.
