RACE 1:Workriders Maiden Plate (F & M) 1450m Bend

ALJAWHARA (Mike De Kock/Avram Makhubo) has been a close up finisher in all four of his starts. Has placed second this C & D. Tends to fade but has a top class workrider aboard. OPPIE KOPPIE did not show in a workriders last time but must be respected this C & D. Did have excuses last time. LADY'S DESIRE did not act on the sand last time. Better on turf and has a good shout. FAIRMAIDOFNORWAY has improved in her last three starts. KAROO QUEEN may improve on a fair debut last time. Alumites go on which will assist.

SELECTIONS: 1st - ALJAWHARA * (1); 2nd - OPPIE KOPPIE (4); 3rd - LADY'S DESIRE
(2); 4th - FAIRMAIDOFNORWAY (3); 5th - KAROO QUEEN (10)

RACE 2:Maiden Plate 1450m Bend

SENATOR (Erico Verdonese/Gavin Lerena) has the form to win. He is well suited to this C & D and has been running on.CALLANDOR does not have the best of current form but does show a liking for this C & D and may improve. FIERY FELLOW (Clinton Binda/Marco Van Rensburg) made a pleasant debut last time.as running on. CUFFLINKS (Sean Tarry/Piere Strydom) has had two nice runs. Will be right there at the finish. ARCTIC SUN (Roy Magner) has been improving with every run.

SELECTIONS: 1st - SENATOR * (2); 2nd - CALLANDOR (3); 3rd - FIERY FELLOW (11); 4th - CUFFLINKS (6); 5th - ARCTIC SUN (10)

RACE 3:Maiden Plate (F & M) 1800m Bend

ANEEFA (Mike De Kock/Gavin Lerena) looks hard to oppose on her two runs to date. Will be running on. AMAAN has steady form and has been running on in her last two. Piere Strydom has the ride. CADILLAC BABY improved by over ten lengths when racing over the distance for the first time. Respect. ALOHA BAY showed some slight improvement in her second start last time. Watch for further improvement. LILAC LOOKER is not sure to get the extra but dis show improvement last time. Robbie Fradd rides.

SELECTIONS: 1st - ANEEFA * (11); 2nd - AMAAN (1); 3rd - CADILLAC BABY (12); 4th - ALOHA BAY (10); 5th - LILAC LOOKER (4)

RACE 4:Pinnacle Stakes 2600m Bend

SALUTATION (Stuart Pettigrew/Marco Van Rensburg) has fair form but in six starts this C & D has won twice, second once and third twice). Respect on that form this C & D. LUMINOUS LOVE (Geoff Woodruff/Piere Strydom) did not show last time and may just prefer slightly shorter. Consider on general form though. SEA PASSAGE (St John Gray/Gavin Lerena) takes on stronger but could be weighted with a chance.WINGED LEGEND (Stuart Pettigrew) has moderate form but could improve to place. ICE TRIGGER (Mike De Kock) must be consider on his three seconds this C & D from four starts this C & D. Tends to fade but could be improving.

SELECTIONS: 1st - SALUTATION * (4); 2nd - LUMINOUS LOVE (2); 3rd - SEA PASSAGE (7); 4th - WINGED LEGEND (5); 5th - ICE TRIGGER (3)

RACE 5:Maiden Plate
1800m Bend

ANY FLAG has improved in his last two starts. Gavin Lerena hops aboard this afternoon for the first time. KING'S CASTLE (Erico Verdonese/Deon Sampson) does not have the best of form but he did show some improvement last time. If he finishes in the money he could get the exotics to pay. The talk around the tracks here in Gauteng is that AL RASHID (Weiho Marwing/Piere Strydom) should be the best bet on today's card. With that sentiment he has to be strongly respected and included. He did run on strongly last time and is clearly improving well. THE DIE IS CAST (Dominic Zaki/Robbie Fradd) is improving and could finish in the money. INVICTUS has not run since November when running poorly in his debut. The lengthy rest could have freshened him up and he may improve.

SELECTIONS: 1st - ANY FLAG * (3); 2nd - KING'S CASTLE (8); 3rd - AL RASHID (1); 4th - THE DIE IS CAST (7); 5th - INVICTUS (12)

RACE 6:MR 86 Hcp (F & M) 1600m Bend

MAGIC SMOKE (Michael Azzie/Gavin Lerena) did not show in a feature in her last start way back in November. Showed promise before that and must have a chance this afternoon if not needing the run. One of her two wins was this C & D. END OF SEASON (St John Gray/Marthinus Mienie) loves this C & D. Won a small feature this C & D two runs back when running on. MARKOFDISTINCTION did not show in a feature and over a far further trip last time. Definite chance on previous form. MOUNT CARMEL (Robbie Sage/Piere Strydom) has not won in a while but consider a money chance with Piere Strydom up. Stable companion, THE OAKS will need to improve to earn any kind of cheque but may just find a small payout.

SELECTIONS: 1st - MAGIC SMOKE * (2); 2nd - END OF SEASON (1); 3rd - MARKOFDISTINCTION (3); 4th - MOUNT CARMEL (4); 5th - THE OAKS (10)

RACE 7:MR 88 Hcp 1800m Bend

MILLENNIUM WIND ran on strongly to win over slightly shorter last time. Enjoys this C & D and will be running on. In-form Sherman Brown rides. FORT LODGE (Geoff Woodruff/Marco Van Rensburg) has some decent form despite not having won for a while. Tends to fade. S'IL VOUS PLAIT tends to fade late. Has a chance on his win at this track at his penultimate start. Gavin Lerena rides. ALBERT DOCK (Sean Tarry/Piere Strydom) runs well this C & D. Fades though. YER-MAAN (St John Gray/Francois Herholdt) has improved in his last three starts of which his penultimate was his best.

SELECTIONS: 1st - MILLENNIUM WIND * (2); 2nd - FORT LODGE (6); 3rd - S'IL VOUS PLAIT (1); 4th - ALBERT DOCK (4); 5th - YER-MAAN (5)

RACE 8:
MR 72 Hcp 1600m Bend

IRISH GIFT has only won over the distance. Current form is good and Gavin Lerena has the ride. POSSE COMITATUS (Michael Azzie) ran a good post maiden last time. Has a strong chance on that run. Won maiden this C & D. HARD CURRENCY (Erico Verdonese/Gavin Lerena)has no form but the blinkers do come off. Has shown better earlier form and if he were to fill a placing then the trifectas and quartets will pay. MEDICEAN WOOD has fair form and he has placed this C & D. MONSIEUR (St John Gray/Piere Strydom) has rather dull form. Showed even less than before when running at this track for the first time. Piere Strydom has the ride though!

SELECTIONS: 1st - IRISH GIFT * (2); 2nd - POSSE COMITATUS (1); 3rd - HARD CURRENCY (5); 4th - MEDICEAN WOOD (14); 5th - MONSIEUR (6)

RACE 9:MR 68 Hcp (F & M) 1600m Bend

SILENT ANGEL does drop a bit in class, Gavin Lerena rides and did run on at this course over slightly shorter last time. On the strength of that she must have a chance in this weak field. PENNY FARE (St John Gray/Piere Strydom) has run badly in her last two starts. One has to respect on earlier form and that Piere Strydom has been booked to ride. GOOSE VALLEY has the current form to make a race of it. Robbie Fradd rides and the filly does run well this C & D. VIVID has a place chance on some steady form. SUNNY DISPOSITION must have a chance on her improved latest start.

SELECTIONS: 1st - SILENT ANGEL * (1); 2nd - PENNY FARE (5); 3rd - GOOSE VALLEY (4); 4th - VIVID (8); 5th - SUNNY DISPOSITION (3)
