SHADWELL STILL COMMITTED TO SOUTH AFRICA AFTER SUMMERHILL DEBACLE

Shadwell Stud have issued a press release regarding the public statement as issued by Summerhill Stud with respect to the ongoing dispute that the parties have. On the positive note, Shadwell remain committed to South African horse breeding.

The full press release:

"The Directors of Shadwell are united in refuting allegations contained in the recent Summerhill Stud publication and press release.

There are various disputes between the parties which will be either settled, arbitrated or litigated and in the fullness of time the rights of the parties will be determined, at which point we believe that we will be fully vindicated.

In the meantime neither Shadwell nor its principals wish to demean themselves by issuing public or partisan statements of the variety disseminated by or at the behest of Summerhill.

It is our intention to devote our energies to the benefit of the stallions, Kahal, Muhtafal and Malhub, and our continued involvement in and support of the South African, and in particular the KZN, thoroughbred breeding industry."
