RACE 1:Maiden Plate (F & M) 1200m Straight

FLASHING STAR has shown good form in her four runs thus far. Shows good pace. CATALOJ  has improved in her last four starts. Lacks finish. MEGA MEL has steady form and has run well this C & D. Can go close. HOPES AND DREAMS was running on strongly in her PE debut at Arlington two runs back. Could win her maiden very soon. NICCI'S VICTORY is improving with each run and with Anton Marcus aboard could improve even more.

RACE 2:Maiden Plate 1200m Straight

GRANDE ALADO has had his best runs over this C & D. Anton Marcus rides. SUPER HUNK needs to repeat his penultimate run when just failing to hold on this C & D. SANDY CELEBRE made a good debut last time. Makes his PE debut. TORELLO has a look of improvement still to come and could be a surprise package. KING'S SILVER did not show last time. Has only run in Gauteng. Makes his PE debut. Watch! Gavin Lerena rides GUARD ROOM.

RACE 3:MR 70 Hcp 1200m Straight

It is a pity that this happens to be the first leg of the PA. This is a horrible race and any one of twenty very moderate horses could win. Go as wide as you can in this exotic! CAPTAIN LE LAGO is a weak choice. He improved in his two runs in Kimberley after having raced in Cape Town before that with limited success. He ran a good post maiden last time after having won his maiden at Flamingo Park. MILDFORD did not show in his PE debut last time. Consider at this track as he could be better here. FOLLOW THE LIGHT is improving. BERKLEY has fair Cape Town form. Could prefer the "Friendly" City. LONDON PERFECT has won this C & D and could be improving.

RACE 4:MR 86 Hcp (F & M) 1200m Straight

CASHMERE MAFIA has raced this C & D on five occasions for two wins and three seconds. That form should make him hard to oppose. PINK MARTINI has improved since trying her "luck" in PE. Anton Marcus has the ride for Justin Snaith. Will be running on. Stable companion, SKYBLADE, with Richard Fourie aboard won well this C & D last time. Showed heart that day. VESTAL VIRGIN has been plying her trade in Kimberley recently. Ran on well on sand last time.SHE WOLFF has steady form and is not out of it. May place.

RACE 5:MR 69 Hcp (F & M) 1200m Straight

CELEBRATION stayed on well last time against slightly stronger. Well weighted and has Anton Marcus aboard. PINE VALLEY has finished second in both of her last two runs which have been over this C & D. Chance on that form. SPORTSGIRL showed good improvement last time when wearing blinkers. They go on again this afternoon. LYDIA LOPOKOVO improved to win this C & D last time. With Gavin Lerena aboard she must have a shout. WELSH KITTEN is never far back. PRIDEOFTHENATION has very good Kimberley form and most of her wins and places have been over this distance.

RACE 6:Grade 3 Champion Juvenile Cup (R200 000) 1400m Bend

I liked the look of the debut that VAUCLAIR made at Kenilworth last time. Will surely improve and the way in which he won over 1200m tends to suggest that he will see out the extra 200m. PLACIDO is unbeaten over the distance (2 from 2) and one of those wins was over this C & D. Will be finding more late on. Has obvious claims. DEEPO has won both of his starts this C & D and has been impressive, Has won her last three starts. Rates a very good chance. SEDGE has good form but against weaker. Anton Marcus has the ride. LE VAR is holding form well.

RACE 7:MR 90 Hcp 1600m Bend

SPELLCASTER has been racing well against similar opposition and comes into the race being well weighted. Ran on last time and Anton Marcus has the ride. HAVASHA won very impressively over 2000m last time. He finished strongly that day. Gavin Lerena gets aboard to continue the challenge for top jockey honours. JET BURST won his last two starts, both over 1400m and both were at Arlington. Runs on well. Another one who could be running on is YOUTH CLUB. CATVIEW is holding form very well and can be sure to run well this C & D.

CUT AND THRUST takes a drop in class for this race. Has an apprentice claiming 2.5kg. Has run this C & D on three occasions for two wins. Must have a chance in a weak field. DAVIE BOWY is holding form well. Will be running on. Anton Marcus rides CANUTE who has fair Cape Town form. Makes his PE debut. COSI FAN TUTU should be respected on his latest improved run. KAHAL'S SECRET may fill a minor placing.

This race should be fought out by the two jockeys fighting out the SA Jockeys Title. MUNTASIR with Anton Marcus up makes his PE debut. Has fair Cape Town form. NEW RESOLUTION has Gavin Lerena aboard. Best runs have been over the distance. TRIBAL PARTY showed some improvement last time and should be in contention. LOVE IS MAGIC is never too far back but may have more to find for the win. Of the balance FOREST CREATION may run into the money.
