WATCH  FROM THE SADDLE - JOCKEY CAMERA IN GOLD CUP, GRADE 1

Top class South Africa presenter and producer, Andrew Bon prides himself on producing world class footage and he did so again when he inserted a "GoPro" camera on the top of a jockey's skull cap during the running of the Gr. 1 Gold Cup on Saturday.

The chosen horse was Captain's Wild and although he finished beyond mid field, the exercise was to find a horse that would be placed in the pack during the race and accelerate if good enough. This camera angle gives the viewer an exciting perspective into a Jockeys race riding skill and puts the average "joe" into the saddle even just for 2 minutes of a group 1 event.

Bon told SAHorseracing.COM that it takes months to arrange and he needs to seek permission from the NHA, the trainer, the jockey and the owners concerned.

Have a look at the following video.

I do not know anyone with the passion, enthusiasm and courage to take on the often difficult officials who run the sport. Never give in Andrew. Follow Sir Winston Churchill's example.
