Tapit's daughter out of Baccarat Babe, Gin Rummy, sold for the highest price at the National 2 Year Old Sale at the TBA sales grounds in Germiston, Johannesburg this weekend.
Joey Ramsden's Goodhope Racing bought the Highlands consigned filly for R650 000.
The sale itself was up on last years average with an R70 000 and and an aggregate of R20 020 000. Last years average was R58 770.
The sale itself was well supported by breeders and trainers with innovations around the complex making it a pleasurable experience for buyers. The latest trend is having catalogues of mobile devices and one could download the pdf form of the catalogue onto a mobile device via the wifi hotspots now available around the sales grounds.
Nestle kindly sponsored over 700 ice creams of various varieties for all at the sale on Friday, an initiative arranged by SAHorseracing.COM. Gary Player is pictured with one of the Nestle promotion team members.
The sale was honoured to have Gary Player attend the sale in person and his farm sold well finishing in the top 5 vendors. Maine Chance was the top vendor selling 13 lots for R1 605 000. Sail From Seattle was the top stallion by aggregate selling 12 lots for an average of just under R98 000.
