It was by no means a push over of a field, in fact it was the best assembled field of the Greyville 1900 evening, and they all played second fiddle to the impressive horse of the year, Variety Club, as the champion strode home in somewhat of a Sunday morning walk in the park.
Heading the field from the off, the Var bred never looked back, and never saw another horse until the pull up as he bolted home at the high cruising speed that he normally displays.
Pomodoro, the July winner, was impressive in a run that will bring him on and prepare him for another tilt at the big one. Punta Arenas was next best but well beaten into third.
