An interesting opener to the day's meeting. One cannot ignore Justin Snaith's first timer WHAT ABOUT MARIA with S'Manga Khumalo aboard. Champion trainer with champion jockey aboard! Of those that have run it is difficult to separate them. CUVEE BRUT should improve on a fair debut last time. IDEAL COUNTESS was just beaten out of it last time when running her best race in four. REBEL'S GIRL has improved steadily in each of her three runs to date. STAR OF MYSORE did not show on debut at Clairwood in April. Must have been well thought of to have made the long trip to Durban. Will improve.
1st – WHAT ABOUT MARIA (66/10) (10); 2nd – CUVEE BRUT (5); 3rd – IDEAL COUNTESS (3); 4th - REBEL'S GIRL 917/10 F) (2); 5th – STAR OF MYSORE (9)

Watch the first timer SASSY SAL. Well bred. BANDANA GIRL is a big runner on her last two runs when only a length back in second in both. DUFTITE GREEN did not show over 1600m last time. Better this trip. WANING CRESCENT has shown good improvement in her three runs to date. QUICK STEP ROSIE ran a bit off course last time. Has claims.
1st – SASSY SAL (11/2) (12); 2nd – BANDANA GIRL (15/10 F) (1); 3rd – DUFTITE GREEN (3); 4th - WANING CRESCENT (5); 5th – QUICK STEP ROSIE (7)

NIGHT IN SEATTLE has had three good runs. Should see out the extra 200m. SCORECARD finished well last time. Chance on that effort. Could be the lesser fancied of the Justin Snaith coupling in the race. ZINGARO made a good debut over shorter last time. Will prefer this extra distance plus much more. PEACE PACT showed very little on debut last time but one has to have the utmost respect for the trainer and jockey combination. MILTON has had two cracking runs. Weakened over shorter last time.
1st – NIGHT IN SEATTLE (3/1) (1); 2nd – SCORECARD (2); 3rd – ZINGARO (9); 4th - PEACE PACT (8); 5th – MILTON (2/1 F) (7)

SIMPLY BLACK has top form this C & D. Finished well to win last time. PROMICING POLLY ran very well in her post maiden against similar last time. Can go close. CLEAN CUT took six runs to win his maiden but won that by an impressive nine lengths. Despite the margin of victory, may need to confirm that run. GIFFORD has had two decent post maiden runs to date. THE JET had to be worked hard on to win his maiden at the seventh attempt last time. May need to confirm.
1st – SIMPLY BLACK (9/2) (3); 2nd – PROMICING POLLY (10); 3rd – CLEAN CUT (4/1 F) (7); 4th - GIFFORD (4); 5th – THE JET (9)

AMARILLO STARLIGHT is a two time winner from four runs. Takes a drop in class. Hasn't run since March in PE. Has 4kg off her back. Stable companion, CHESTNUT GIRL, did not show in her latest, which was her post maiden. Fancy on trainer/jockey combination. AROMATICS ran a good post maiden against slightly stronger last time. Chance. NIGHT OF THE STARS won her maiden at the second time of asking last time. May need to confirm. CREDIBILITY has more to find but drops slightly in class.
1st – AMARILLO STARLIGHT (11/2) (1); 2nd – CHESTNUT GIRL (2); 3rd – AROMATICS (3/1 F) (6); 4th - NIGHT OF STARS (3); 5th – CREDIBILITY (8)

BLARNEY BAY has excellent form. Was an unlucky loser last time. Looks to be the one to beat. SHISHANGENI is holding form well but weakens late. ACE ANTONIUS takes a sharp drop in class and runs on nicely. HENRY OF YORK has lost form in his last two runs. Can pop up. GLOBAL DESTINY lacks consistency. May improve.
1st – BLARNEY BAY (2/1 F) (1); 2nd – SHISHANGENI (3); 3rd – ACE ANTONIUS (4); 4th - HENRY OF YORK (7); 5th – GLOBAL DESTINY (6)

DOGMATISM got going late against slightly stronger last time. Good chance in an open looking race. I AM THE LAW hasn't run since the last day in May when producing an electrifying finish to finish this C & D. CHARLES LYTTON won his maiden in fine style in his second appearance at the track. Debut run was a good one. Watch for betting moves. KIRUMBO won his maiden this C & D way back in November. Has had some very good post maiden runs. CAPTAIN'S ORDERS won his maiden at the fifth try last time. Was rewarded for consistency.
1st – DOGMATISM (769/100) (2); 2nd – I AM THE LAW (3); 3rd – CHARLES LYTTON (18/10 F) (7); 4th - KIRUMBO (1); 5th – CAPTAIN'S ORDERS (4)

SUNSET TRIPP could be overdue her second win. Won on debut four runs back and has never been disgraced against some stronger field. Once again the S'Manga Khumalo factor! PRINCESS SALME is a three time winner from sixteen starts taking on weaker. Will be finishing well. CATCHPHRASE has improved her form in recent times. Has been running on. TIGERESS DANCE won a good race at Durbanville over the distance last time. FIRST OF MAY won her maiden at the fourth attempt last time. May need to confirm.
1st – SUNSET TRIPP (9/2 JF) (7); 2nd – PRINCESS SALME (3); 3rd – CATCHPHRASE (4); 4th - TIGERESS DANCE (11); 5th – FIRST OF MAY (9/2 JF) (10)
