DAWN DAY has been improving nicely but suffered a saddle slip last time. SPIAGGIA has been expensive o follow. Don't leave out. Due a win soon. SPELLBOUND made a good debut last time despite having experience traffic problems. HVAR weakened on debut. Improvement likely. AGALIA makes her debut with, amongst others, the ante post favourite, WOLVERINA. Check the betting on them as well as the other first timers.

TOUGHNUTTOCRACK could have more to find. First time on sand. PACK ICE could have more to find on his three runs but looks to be appropriately named for today's weather around the country! Respect the son of DYNASTY, SOUTHFORK, making his debut. Ante post favourite.

STARCRAFT PRINCE is a short priced favourite making his debut. Well bred. SEVEN ROSES is another well bred first timer from "Down Under". Keep an eye on the betting on all first timers. TOUGHY SMITH raids from KZN. Improved second run. Outside chance of earning. TRIPLE DISTILLED has more to find on his sixteen runs this far. LIKE AN ARROW has a money chance on debut run two runs back.

PRECURSOR has won his last two, but both against weaker. ISPHAN has faced much stronger, including the likes of GUINESS and AFRIKABURN. Can win. ATSO TIME is unbeaten after two starts, the latter being at Flamingo Park. Takes on stronger but could be one to follow. TOPOSTWEGO could be a flattering choice as his latest win was also at Flamingo Park. Trainer wins with his horses at both venues though. DOING IT FOR DAN ran on to win on debut this C & D last time. Hard to assess.

Sean Tarry holds the key to the outcome of this race. SAUSALITO BAY drops slightly in class. Has not had the best of luck in recent times. S'Manga Khumalo rides. Stable companion, JADE VINE, has Piere Strydom aboard. Horses and jockeys could be "fighting"  this one out. Weakens late though. GO DUTCH finished a fair sixth on Thursday. May have a shout. WATER MUSIC runs well at this track. Did not get the best of starts last time. CERISE SILK could be improving.

SECRET MAGOK drops in class but has won her last two starts rather impressively. Hat trick chance. ALL IN THE MIND has been holding form well against slightly stronger. Looks to be well weighted. FLAME CAT has yet to run on sand. Decent t form still makes her a threat in this field. MARGOT ON STAGE is a reserve runner who gets to run with good enough form to win. SOCIETI has been finishing well. Outside chance.

MIDNIGHT RUN raids from KZN. Garth Puller yard in good form at home. First run in Gauteng. Will be finishing well if taking to this surface. Anthony Delpech has made the trip to Gauteng to ride for the Mike De Kock yard. Stable companion, FOYLE is the biggest danger. Won well last time but this is also his first run on sand. ACROSS THE ICE takes on stronger but has the services of Piere Strydom. May be caught out at the weights. ISOBAR takes on stronger. Won last time. Yard and jockey, S'Manga Khumalo in very good form. KILLUA CASTLE got going late last time. Has run in Grade 1 races. Beware.

SAMOGAN has won his last three, all at this track and over shorter. Has obvious claims. NEGEV will be running on and Piere Strydom rides again. CAPRICORN RIDGE has been weakening and returns to Gauteng after a stint in KZN. LAVENDER LANDSCAPE could be ready to improve. Weakened late over slightly further last time. NIGEL MANSELL has won this C & D but tends to weaken late.

SEMRA will be running for the third time after a lengthy rest. Should be ready. Interesting to see Anthony Delpech riding at the Vaal today. MISS K has been consistent and could push all the way. KNOCK KNOCK hasn't won for a while but is never completely out of it. MEXICAN GLORY showed good improvement last time when running on. SKY PIRATE has more to find on current form which is only moderate.

  ARCTIC HOOLIGAN kept going well to win against a similar field last time. can repeat. DREAMUPONADREAM won his maiden at the third attempt last time. Has only run in Durban. Must be considered. WOZA MADODA is inconsistent. Will need to show more to win but still has a place chance. JUMBO hasn't won in ages but can claim to have been unlucky in his latest start. DIRTY CHAMPAGNE did not have the best of rides last time. Can make amends.
