RACE 1

BRUTAL FORCE has looked the part in his two runs thius far. Should go far to winning the day's opener. CAPE FLING has been a bit disappointing but should soon begin to realise his potential. MILTON has had three desperately close finishes in all three starts. Look for another driving finish. IMPERIAL GUARD will also be finishing well and showed good improvement in his second start last time. MEGAMIND makes his debut. Will probably need further.

1st – BRUTAL FORCE (13/20 F) (6); 2nd – CAPE FLING (1); 3rd – MILTON (3); 4th - IMPERIAL GUARD (7); 5th – MEGAMIND (11)

15 WITHOUT PERMISSION (AUS) A 8 59.0 Joey Ramsden Bernard Fayd'Herbe

RACE 2

Son of SILVANO, ST TROPEZ makes his debut. Keep an eye on the betting. One should see a decent first run from him. BLACKMORE finished better than he started last time. Should be in the mix late on. WITHOUT PERMISSION also makes his debut. Betting should be the best guide. COUNTYRBLESSINGS is another first timer who needs to be closely watched. MAJOR VAUGHAN has had his problems and may improve.

1st – ST TROPEZ (71/10) (13); 2nd – BLACKMORE (6); 3rd – WITHOUT PERMISSION (15); 4th - COUNTYRBLESSINGS (8); 5th – MAJOR VAUGHAN (18/10 F) (3)

Race 3 - 13.10 - 1400m

7 SHIMMERING LEAVES A 5 56.0 Eric Sands Grant Behr
8 PERPETUA A 1 53.0 Greg Ennion M J Byleveld

RACE 3

GREY LIGHT had an excellent Durban Winter Season when winning two from four starts and racing in two high profile feature races. First run in Cape Town. Should be too strong if fit. ACROSTAR has good form but has been losing ground at the start which would have cost her. STAR JET had a good Durban Winter Season and should be one to fight out the finish. LUPIN was returning from a three month break. Weakens but should strip fitter. SHIMMERING LEAVES is C & D suited and ran on well over shorter last time. More to do here.

1st – GREY LIGHT (1/1 F) (5); 2nd – ACROSTAR (4); 3rd – STAR JET (1); 4th - LUPIN (2); 5th – SHIMMERING LEAVES (7)

14 SMASHVILLE A 1 58.0 Justin Snaith Sean Cormack
15 STACKED BY SEATTLE A 9 58.0 Dean Kannemeyer Grant Behr

RACE 4

HEATHER BOUQUET made a good debut this C & D last time. Could be good value. One to keep an eye on. BLACK BELVEDERE may be better suited to Durbanville but consider that Durbanville form. SCHOOL RUN made a smart debut last time. A repeat of that run will see her win this race. SKYLAR LANE makes her debut. Keep an eye on the betting. LITTLE BEAR has moderate form and weakens. Respect trainer and jockey combination.

1st – HEATHER BOUQUET (71/10) (1); 2nd – BLACK BELVEDERE (4); 3rd – SCHOOL RUN (31/20 F) (11); 4th - SKYLAR LANE (13); 5th – LITTLE BEAR (2)

9 WAY CLEAR A 10 58.5 Dean Kannemeyer Karl Neisius
10 CAPTIVE ACTION A 7 57.0 Mike Stewart Greg Cheyne

RACE 5

READYTOGORIGHTNOW ran on well to win this C & D last time. Has very good Grade 1 form and should go very close. NIGHT TRIP won his latest race in Durban on the polytrack. That was an impressive win and should go close if not needing the run. ASHTON PARK loses quite a bit of ground at the start but finishes really well. Has won give times this C & D and could make a placing. RIVER CROSSING may need the run but can earn something along with JET EXPLORER who needs to have his latest start ignored as he dislodge jockey Richard Fourie at the start. First run since June.

1st – READYTOGORIGHTNOW (15/10 F) (3); 2nd – NIGHT TRIP (6); 3rd – ASHTON PARK (4); 4th - RIVER CROSSING (5); 5th – JET EXPLORER (1)

7 BLACK KITTEN A 3 52.0 Greg Ennion Greg Cheyne
8 PUTNEY FLYER A 6 52.0 Darryl Hodgson Gerrit Schlechter
9 OH SO MODUS A T 7 52.0 Paul Reeves Devin Ashby

RACE 6

DESERT SWIRL has very good form and this will be his favourite distance. Kept on going once he hit the front form a sluggish beginning to with the Settlers at Durbanville. GOTHIC meets DESERT SWIRL at ½kg better terns for a 0,5 length beating. The order could change but it should be as close again. BLACK KITTEN stayed on last time in the same race but will have quite some way to go. SURRUPTITIOUS takes on stronger but did weaken last time. PUTNEY FLYER ran on strongly behind DESERT SWIRL last time but has no weight advantage. Place chance.

1st – DESERT SWIRL (286/100 JF) (3); 2nd – GOTHIC (286/100 JF) (2); 3rd – BLACK KITTEN (7); 4th - SURRUPTITIOUS (4); 5th – PUTNEY FLYER (8)

8 SHEER TROUBLE A 5 52.0 Mike Bass Grant Van Niekerk
9 SAINT DONAN A 2 52.0 Dolf Maeder Devin Ashby

RACE 7

ML JET is top class and looked the winner last time in a Grade 1 at Greyville. Should have won but had to shift late. Highly promising and should be the one to beat. Winner of two from three. First run in Cape Town. ACT OF WAR will challenge. He has won his last three, all at this course. This is tougher. HEARTLAND made an explosive debut when winning by almost ten lengths at this track last time. Looks promising but this race will tell. PRINCE OF EDEN got up to win his debut run last time. May need to confirm. SHEER TROUBLE won his maiden comfortably at the second attempt last time. May need to confirm.

1st – ML JET (1/1 F) (2); 2nd – ACT OF WAR (1); 3rd – HEARTLAND (4); 4th - PRINCE OF EDEN (6); 5th – SHEER TROUBLE (8)

7 LADY AL A 7 52.0 Eric Sands Girish Goomany
8 MOULIN ROYALE A T 6 52.0 Patrick Kruyer Gerrit Schlechter

RACE 8

VARIKATE returns from KZN where she ran well. Finished fourth to VIA AFRIKA in the SA Fillies Sprint during the KZN Winter Season. If fit and not needing the run, looks to be the one to beat. Stable companion, EROS'S GIRL, did not show in KZN but won both her two runs at this track before that. Yet another stable companion, AMARILLO STARLIGHT, has not run since March. May need a run or two. MONEY SURGER was running on last time but has more to do to win. MATIES WILDEKAT can be included for minor money on trainer/jockey form.

1st – VARIKATE (14/10 F) (1); 2nd – EROS'S GIRL (4); 3rd – AMARILLO STARLIGHT (6); 4th - MONEY SURGER (5); 5th – MATIES WILDEKAT (3)

14 TEMPESTUOUS A 13 52.0 Glen Puller Gareth Wright

RACE 9

AZARENKA ran well in the Juvenile Stakes at Kenilworth in February. Will more than likely need the run but she looks to have class about her and cannot be ignored. GOGREASELIGHTNING hasn't run since May but ran such a good post maiden that day that she cannot be ignored. NIGHT OF STARS also ran a cracker in her post maiden last time and should go close on that run. REBEL'S GIRL won her maiden this C & D last time. May need to confirm. CHESTNUT GIRL did not show over further last time. Respect back over this journey.

1st – AZARENKA (4/1) (1); 2nd – GOGREASELIGHTNING (5); 3rd – NIGHT OF STARS (5/2 F) (6); 4th - REBEL'S GIRL (3); 5th – CHESTNUT GIRL (2)

15 ASSTAR A 7 54.0 Glen Puller Christopher Puller
16 TWENTYMANJONES A 13 54.0 Darryl Hodgson Gerrit Schlechter
RACE 10

CASTLETHORPE is one of those "mad" choices. He has been rested and may just prefer this distance on his first run back. One to follow with some trepidation, but consider maybe for the places. Ran on last time in Durban. THE WEST IS WIDE takes on stronger but won his latest race in emphatic style. DE KOCK is also up in class but he also won impressively last time. Will go close. DARING DAVE has won his last three and goes into this race full of confidence. TEVEZ often flatters only to deceive but has had his problems. Would not come as a surprise were he to indeed win.

1st – CASTLETHORPE (33/1) (3); 2nd – THE WEST IS WIDE (5); 3rd – DE KOCK (18/10 F) (6); 4th - DARING DAVE (4); 5th – TEVEZ (2)
