GENERAL MISTY was slightly below his debut run last time. Looks to be the one to beat. FINCHATTON ran on well for third this C & D last time. DREAM OF GLORY, son of DYNASTY, makes his debut. One to watch. PHUKET finished strongly on debut last time. Respect. The son of TRIPPI, TRIPP FORCE, makes his debut.
1st – GENERAL MISTY (286/100 F) (12); 2nd – FINCHATTON (10); 3rd – DREAM OF GLORY (9); 4th - PHUKET (15); 5th – TRIPP FORCE (14)

KARA ran on well when making her debut last time. Would have come on with that run. KALANCHOE also made a good debut last time. Will race with alumites this time. One to consider as well. SHIRLEY'S TIME was a distant second in her comeback run last time. Should be in the mix. QUIANA improved by just over ten lengths in her third run last time. Respect her chances. MATSURI was running on late on debut last time. Should improve.
1st – KARA (62/10) (6); 2nd – KALANCHOE (227/100 F) (5); 3rd – SHIRLEY'S TIME (2); 4th - QUIANA (3); 5th – MATSURI (9)

RACE 3
Not an easy race. Load up where possible in the PA and Bipot. TZIGANE runs for the third time after a rest and has yet to really disappoint at any level. Both comeback runs have been decent and she could cause an upset in the first leg of the PA. Take her plus two more fancied horses in the betting in your PA. SHEPARD ONE won well against weaker last time. Consider all the same. PEJ has very good KZN form but has yet to be tested at this level. Cannot be ignored though. AFRICAN DREAM raids from KZN. Has the form to win. Will be running on. Yard not that used to travelling to Gauteng. LAZER STAR is unbeaten after two and still has to be tested but looks to be an encouraging sort.
1st – TZIGANE (14/1) (4); 2nd – SHEPARD ONE (7); 3rd – PEJ (3); 4th - AFRICAN DREAM (9/2 F) (2); 5th – LAZER STAR (11)

RACE 4
PRECURSOR has won each of his three last runs on sand, including a feature race. Will have a very good chance if he were to repeat those runs at the Big-T this afternoon. Shows very good pace and stays on really well. Could be well suited to the faster turf track. CHEKILLI had an indifferent KZN season. Is a talented sort and should not be too long in regaining ssome of that earlier form. I make him a definite runner in this race. Has won 4 from 4 this C & D. SNOWDON has been a good servant of the world of racing and at seven years of age is still capable of running a big race. Loves this C & D. TRIP TO HEAVEN is lightly raced with only one win from three starts. Ran in the Graham Beck last time and was far from disgraced. Expect further improvement. ONE MAN'S DREAM won his last three. Yard won two races on Thursday. Could surprise but takes on stronger.
1st – PRECURSOR (9/1) (12); 2nd – CHEKILLI (4); 3rd – SNOWDON (5); 4th - TRIP TO HEAVEN (357/100 F) (14); 5th – ONE MAN'S DREAM (10)

RACE 5
ATAAB has a strong finish. She won this C & D last time and overall she has won 3 from 5. She could be destined to having a successful career, perhaps overseas. The way in which she won last time was impressive. The only problem could be is the rise in class. ZRINSKI won most impressively by over eight lengths on debut last time. Could be anything, but must be worth some interest. MARIA THERESA was not disgraced when finishing less than two lengths behind EURAKILON in a MR 90 last time. That was her only blemish in her three runs to date. OLMA raids from KZN where she won her her last three. Watch for a strong late surge and she is by no means out of it. The long Turffontein straight could just about suit. SMART CALL is the current ante post favourite in a highly competitive field. Respect the yard today. Could win a few of the races on offer.
1st – ATAAB (11/2) (4); 2nd – ZRINSKI (9); 3rd – MARIA THERESA (10); 4th - OLMA (8); 5th – SMART CALL (9/2 F) (3)

RACE 6
HARRY'S SON looks to be the best weighted horse running on the entire card today. Won his debut run at the beginning of January and subsequently ran in various levels of feature races since then. Has come along the right way and he won when making his track debut last time in the Graham Beck. Is the one to beat. The filly, SIREN'S CALL, is an interesting one to consider. He has only run three times and won two of them. He is certainly one that has most improvement still to come. Piere Strydom who rode him in all three has opted to ride HARRY'S SON. I believe that with S'Manga Khumalo aboard, SIREN'S CALL will fight HARRY'S SON all the way. She has too strong a finish to be ignored, even against the "boys". LEVEN POINT raids from KZN. Has yet to race at this level. Has good form but shows promise. JAYYED is still a maiden but has raced in features and he should pick up his first win soon. KISS ME HARDY won on sand last time. Still has to prove himself.
1st – HARRY'S SON (1/1 F) (1); 2nd – SIREN'S CALL (16); 3rd – LEVEN POINT (7); 4th - JAYYED (2); 5th – KISS ME HARDY (4)

RACE 7 GRADE 1 SANSUI CUP
LOUIS THE KING had a terrific Gauteng 2013/2014 season. Has won 6 from 10 starts. His only blemish was a way below par run in this year's Vodacom Durban July. That run can be ignored as he prefers this track and his prep run in the November Handicap was a real excellent one as he was returning from a four month break. Looks to be the one to beat and he will have a myriad of supporters. BEZANOVA beat LOUIS THE KING by 0.75 lengths last time. Is 1 kg worse off. Unlikely to beat LOUIS THE KING as the has yet to show over the distance. I still a danger. Ignore the run of RAKE'S CHESTNUT who dislodged his jockey at the start. Was a runner in this year's July and managed to finish ahead of LOUIS THE KING. Ran a short head second to LEGISLATE in the Grade 1 Daily News in June. On that run he cannot be ignored. LOCKHEED JETSTAR will be running on and has run some good races. Has beaten RAKE'S CHESTNUT. Would not be a surprise winner. ATHINA has disappointed recently. Has the class to cause an upset.
1st – LOUIS THE KING (227/100 F) (2); 2nd – BEZANOVA (3); 3rd – RAKE'S CHESTNUT (5); 4th - LOCKHEED JETSTAR (8); 5th – ATHINA (9)

RACE 8
CARRY ON ALICE won at the Vaal last week over 1000m when starting at restricted odds. She has won 4 from 8 starts and looks to be getting better and better. Has raced in Grade 1 races and should have the beating of this field. Will be running on. Biggest threat should be PINE PRINCESS, who has had her success as well. Last time they met was at Greyville in the Grade 1 Thekweni Stakes where CARRY ON ALICE beat her by almost four lengths. PINE PRINCESS is 2 kg better off at the weights and the distance should be much closer. CLASSIC ILLUSION hasn't won in ten months but could be improving. MOHAVE PRINCESS hasn't won in over a year but she did finish a head behind PINE PRINCESS last time. Could place again. ARCETRI PINK can never be left out.

RACE 9
This is a difficult race. BARACAH ran well in a feature last time but over shorter. Has yet to race this far which will always bring a question mark next to his name. On form over shorter he must have something of a shout. Not a confident choice though. HENRY HIGGINS, despite not having won since February, has very good form. Stays on nicely and he could go close in this field. KINGSTON MINES won against far weaker last time. This will be his toughest race to date but cannot ignore with only 52kg on his back over this marathon distance. ZEPHIRA has been running in features. Consider yard who invariably do well on the "big" Gauteng feature days. Stable companion, SISTERS OF MERCY, runs on over lengthy distances but yet to race this far. Include wherever possible.
1st – BARACAH (13/1) (5); 2nd – HENRY HIGGINS (8); 3rd – KINGSTON MINES (66/10 F) (12); 4th - ZEPHIRA (4); 5th – SISTERS OF MERCY (13)

RACE 10
EURAKILON ran on strongly to win both of his last two starts. Is unbeatn this C & D (2 from 2). Expect another good run. SABADELL is 1 kg better off that EURAKILON for a half a length beating last time. Is right in this race. NEWTON POWER is 2 kg better off than EURAKILON for a 3.5 length beating last time. Should get far closer. BRAVO MAYA caused an upset when winning at 25/1 last time. Must respect trainer/jockey combination. GREAT RUMPUS drops in class.
1st – EURAKILON (357/100 F) (1); 2nd – SABADELL (3); 3rd – NEWTON POWER (5); 4th - BRAVO MAYA (10); 5th – GREAT RUMPUS (2)

RACE 11
DEPUTY JUD won his maiden at the second attempt last time. May need to confirm but the way in which he won, could see him going close this evening. Not an easy race. GO GOLD has been improving slowly of late. may have more to find but is certainly worth a chance. MONEY GRUBBER has improved with the fitting of blinkers in his last three. Has placed second over this trip. ORCHESTRATED has been racing well on the sand and takes on stronger. THATO MAGESTIQUE ran a good post maiden last time when running on. Can repeat again.
1st – DEPUTY JUD (62/10) (15); 2nd – GO GOLD (5); 3rd – MONEY GRUBBER (3); 4th - ORCHESTRATED (5/1 JF) (8); 5th – THATHO MAGESTIQUE (5/1 JF) (9)

FLAMING ACE stayed on last time and should fight this out with TAMARIND who has had two good runs but weakened latter stages last time. OXFORD UNION ran well in a workrider's race last time. 1st – FLAMING ACE (4/1) (1); 2nd – TAMARIND (227/100 F) (14); 3rd – OXFORD UNION (8); 4th - AYRTON (2); 5th – AQUA BLUE (7)
