A field of nine competitive horses broke fairly well in this listed event at Scottsville. SHEIK'S BRASHEE was restless inside the stall and as a result was slow away but soon was rushed up to the rest of the field. COFFEE SHEIK was the first to show from FLYFIRSTCLASS who lead the field to the halfway mark in the race. As COFFEE SHEIK moved back to the field so SHEIK'S BRASHEE, with Sean Veale aboard, began to move up to FLYFIRSTCLASS and these two fought it out over the last two hundred metres.
SHEIK'S BRASHEE gained the upper hand late and went on to win going away. This was an impressive win by SHEIK'S BRASHEE as it was his first win over 1200m, a distance over which he has already place. The win now gives him back-to-back success in non black type races and four wins from five starts at the track.
FLYFIRSTCLASS stayed on for second and his was a good run. PEJ who was a bit outpaced early on did find his feet late on and he will pick up another race soon. ROYAL ZULU WARRIOR improved again wih the blinkers and is one to consider next time if the headgear remain on.
