NON-BLACK TYPE FEVER TREE HANDICAP: LAKE ARTHUR to beat small but competitive field
LAKE ARTHUR could be the one to follow in this small feature. That is if he doesn't need the run. He last ran on October. This seven year son of Jet Master last ran over this distance on the polytrack last time when he ran on late to finish second behind CANDY MOON in a Pinnacle Stakes. He last won a race though almost two years ago. He may race fresh and one should keep one eye on the way he looks going down to post as well the betting. On Saturday afternoon he is at 4/1 in the betting, behind TUSCAN 5/2 and ROYAL ZULU GUARD 7/2. Anthony Delpech who rode him in his last race has the ride once again. Form is good enough to ensure a win in this small feature.
GOLDIE COAST was coming along well and looked to have a very good chance of winning his latest run but suffered from a saddle slip. He could make amends this afternoon. ROYAL ZULU GUARD won his last run very easily. He has run on in both his last two starts and should be a factor. Owner Roy Moodley has been a frequent visitor to the number one box in the past six months. He does have a tendency to be slow away though.
FOURTH ESTATE disappointed last time after having run well in his previous two. He too has a tendency to lose lengths at the start. Jockey Alec Forbes did win on him two runs back. He has been a consistent performer and should be able to earn something in this race.
Owner, Roy Moodley has another runner in this race. TUSCAN takes on stronger but looks to be improving and could earn a small place cheque
1st - LAKE ARTHUR (3); 2nd - GOLDIE COAST (4); 3rd - ROYAL ZULU GUARD (6); 4th - FOURTH ESTATE (1); 5th - TUSCAN (7)
