STOLEN DESTINY causes upset to win the NON-BLACK TYPE FEVER TREE HANDICAP

There was upset result to the Fever Tree handicap at Greyville on Sunday afternoon when STOLEN DESTINY won going away to win the 1400m event. The race had to be moved from the turf track to the polytrack due to a heavy downpour in Saturday where in excess of 50mm fell in a two hour period.

Fourth Estate was slow to get going at the start. ROYAL ZULU GUARD was the first to get going. The short-priced favourite, LAKE ARTHUR,,was content to sit back in fourth. ROYAL ZULU GUARD was tracked by the grey, STOLEN DESTINY, TUSCAN, LAKE ARTHUR and KINGSTON BOY.

The order remained pretty much the same throughout with KINGSTON BOY and LAKE ARTHUR trying to find better positions. As they hit the top of the short run in to the line, ROYAL ZULU GUARD appeared to have the race under control but with about 150m to the line STOLEN DESTINY had other ideas and applied the pressure to eventually win going away from the long time leader, ROYAL ZULU GUARD. KINGSTON BOY finished well back in second with TUSCAN in fourth. LAKE ARTHUR ran a disappointing race and should not be written off.
