Cape Town based trainer, Joey Ramsden, makes the trip to Port Elizabeth to contest this feature race at Fairview this afternoon with his five-year old mare, MISS SAIGON. Even though her form in Cape Town hasn't been that strong in recent runs, one needs to take into consideration the fact that she does face much weaker than her last two starts in the shadow of Table Mountain. She was not disgraced last time when fading in the latter stages last weekend to go down by just over four lengths to HAMMIE'S HOOKER in the Grade 3 Prix Du Cap. This race may have come too soon though, but then only time will tell. One does have to believe that her conditioner wouldn't have gone to that much trouble and expense to subject her to the arduous journey from Cape Town to Port Elizabeth had he not thought that she had a winning chance. This is her first PE run and her first around a left-handed turn track.

YOSHIE won her last two but she does have problems. Having said that, she must be one that has a very good chance as she has won at this level and against stronger before. She will have the benefit of being from an in-form Alan Greeff yard. She has won two from four this course and distance.

One has to also consider the Justin Snaith coupling in this race. He sends out two horses that look to have money chances. Both have top class jockeys in Richard Fourie and Grant Van Niekerk but there could some justification in choosing the one with the stable elect jockey, Richard Fourie. HIGHLY DECORATED has improved in Port Elizabeth by winning two from her three starts. She does take on slightly stronger and she has won this C & D. DIVA'S DAUGHTER does have respiratory problems but at her very best can earn something.

A horse that could quite easily surprise is GARDEN TREASURE. She ran a very good race in a similar division last time and could be well worth backing for the places.
