After the feast of eight feature, the action moves 500km eastwards along the N3 to Scottsville in Pietermaritzburg. It will take quite something to match the excitement that was experienced nd witnessed in Johannesburg yesterday.

GENIAL was unbeaten until she took the trip to Turffontein to run in a feature race. That run was won by SIREN'S CALL,  who went on the win the Grade 1 SA Fillies Classic yesterday. On evidence of her two runs at Scottsville and Greyville, she must have an undeniable chance back on home turf. At 16/1 she could be good value. She faded badly in that feature last time but did run on well in her penultimate. 

The favourite PEJ is holding form well. Jockey Anton Marcus has not ridden her for a while now and has won three times aboard her from four runs. Should test the ability of GENIAL.

GARIBONDY won well against slightly weaker last time. All six wins have been over the shortest distance and five of them have been this C & D from eight. Certainly not one to be ignored.

CAVIAR did not show at this level over further last time but may be better suited to the 1000m now.

SARVE could be a lurker. Corne Spies has brought a few runners to Scottsville from Gauteng for today's meeting and often with success. Chance if running on.
