SPOOK EXPRESS HANDICAP (Listed) - ERIN should see out the 2450m
The Ormond Ferraris yard has been quiet of late. An interesting jockey choice is the top Cape Town jockey, Bernard Fayd'Herbe, who rides her for the first time. ERIN travels this far for the first time but being a daughter of FORT WOOD, the distance should not pose any problems. Last time she ran she ran on really well and this race could come at the right time this afternoon. At odds of around 9/2 she offers good value and she should be right there in a competitive race.
WILD ASH was well ridden by Piere Strydom when winning winning this C & D last time. Piere Strydom doesn't ride her this afternoon but will be given every chance by another top rider in Anton Marcus. She adjusted well to her step up in class two runs back and looks set to give another good account of herself.
One cannot ignore the chances of the Sean Tarry yard. The yard is in fantastic form and one should not be surprise were EVA TIBBS to win this afternoon. Admittedly she steps up in class but her form is good enough and with 52kg on her back and top jockey, S'Manga Khumalo riding, the chances are good.
RODEO SIOUX has been disappointing. She has run well at this level before, but not in recent times. Don't rule out an upset, even were she to find a place.
MISS RAMBO has been running on in recent races. She is 1kg better off at the weights with WILD ASH who beat her by just over a length last time. She can reverse the order but jockey Jared Penny will have Anton Marcus to contend with.
