RACE 1:
As is the norm at this time of the year, there are many juveniles making their debuts around the country and the betting will be your best guide. CLEVER KATE disappointed last time but has run well before. VAMPIRELLA won on debut last time. Can be followed again. MAKE MY OWN LUCK makes her debut. CLASS ACT ran her best race in three last time. WIND TRADER is a first timer that could also be worth following.

RACE 2:
SHREYA'S STAR makes his debut. Keep an eye on the betting. VARIABLE PITCH has had three good runs but fades late. NATAL is a son of ARGONAUT. SON OF SILVER made a fair debut last time ICE RUN is a son of WESTERN WINTER.
1st - SHREYA'S STAR (5); 2nd - VARIABLE PITCH (7); 3rd - NATAL (4); 4th - SON OF SILVER (6); 5th - ICE RUN (3)
RACE 3:
CHASING THE SUN was bumped at the start last time. Can make amends. GUILTY AS CHARGED stayed on last time and has steady form. SHOW ME HEAVEN did not run to form last time. Has been better than that. EVERCELL also ran way below par last time and has more to find for the win. PRINCE OF ARABIA ran on three runs ago and will have to go some to repeat that.

RACE 4:
DARK AVENGER makes his KZN debut after having changed stables. There was improvement in his latest run which was in Cape Town. CHARLES MY BOY was pipped close home last time. That was his best run in four. DAGGER FALL has been running on. Should be in the mix. COUNTERMOVE has lost ground in both starts but last run gave an improvement of over thirty lengths. Has to be considered. JEDAK has shown an inexplicable loss in form. Chance on form before last two.

RACE 5:
SARATOGA DANCER won against stronger last time. Can repeat and win again. ALWAYS AL has not showed for a long time now. Any return to form would cause an upset. RED ROVER is never far back and stayed on last time. OH BOY has won two from three. Could be progressive but takes on stronger. ALL TOGETHER NOW ran a very good post maiden at this track against weaker last time. S'Manga Khumalo rides for Mike De Kock.

RACE 6:
DE KOCK, from the Brett Crawford yard, makes his KZN debut. He drops in class and has won over the distance before. Did beat LEGISLATE about eighteen months ago in a feature race in Cape Town. BALANCE SHEET has had his problems but can never be ignored at this level. Has run in some very good top races. FRENCH REVOLUTION is never far back and is taking to the rising in class well. RUN RHINO RUN did not run to form last time. Give another chance. TIPO TINTO needs to find a better finish.

RACE 7:
ONE WAY TICKET was far from disgraced in a feature in PE last time. OSTERIA is still improving and takes on quite a bit stronger. He hasn't run for over five months and may need the run. SABAHA drops slightly in class but may be better over slightly further now. MISS STINGRAY will be running on and has some good form in recent races. Both wins have been over this trip. BRAVE AND BOLD may just be improving again.
1st - ONE WAY TICKET (1); 2nd - OSTERIA (2); 3rd - SABAHA (4); 4th - MISS STINGRAY (13); 5th - BRAVE AND BOLD (5)
RACE 8:
FLYING LOOT disappointed last time but that was against stronger. Watch for an improved run. CHERRY TRIPPER was disappointing against stronger last time. Gavin Lerena rides. WAR PATH has the form but could find this tougher. CUVEE BRUT has good form. Was soundly beaten by MAJMU a few months back, but then at least she got to run against her. BALKAN returns from a three month break. Won well last time.

RACE 9:
CAPTAIN ON THE RUN hasn't run since early January but takes a drop in cl;ass that could compensate for that. He has won this C & D and three of his four wins have been over the distance. SPACE LAUNCH takes on stronger but is improving. SAIL SOUTH has his first run in KZN this season. Had decent Cape Town form and won at this track last season. HIGHWAY EXPLORER is never too far back but encountered problems last time. PIANO MAN could be finding form.

RACE 10:
FLY AT EM takes on much weaker this afternoon. This will be his second run after a lengthy fifteen month break. BURRWOOD hasn't won in ages but did stay on last time. GLINKA has good post maiden form and ran on well last time. GUMBI won his maiden at the second attempt last time. May need to confirm. LEGEND FIGHTER could be coming back to form but may prefer the polytrack at Greyville.
