RACE 1:

LIGHTING THE FIRE  showed huge improvement last time despite being slow away. NEVER SETTLE was a short priced favourite on debut last time. Disappointed that day but watch today. CELTIC CAPTAIN has had two good runs but weakens late. BRITISH ANTHEM makes his debut. ROY'S GUL GUL HA has been below his best in his last two.

RACE 2:

CAPE HUNTER makes her debut. The betting could be the best guide. CATHERINE SEVENTH was a distant third last time. Should improve. FIFTY FIFTY weakened badly in her second start last time. Something to find this afternoon. CRYSTAL CLUSTER was very moderate on debit last time. Can improve. BONDI BAY makes her debut. Keep an eye on the betting.

RACE 3:

WESTERLY WIND ran her best race in nine last time. May improve further. POLAR TRIP has won three races from four starts. Yard in good form. Bernard Fayd'Herbe has the ride. Best runs were her two seconds from two starts this C & D. One to be wary of. RASTA'S JET has decent form. Antony Delpech rides again. Ignore the latest effort of DARK ROSE who was reported coughing post race.

RACE 4:

EL GALLO has had two good runs and should feature at the finish. CAPTAIN KING is ready to win and was just beaten last time. Has placed this C & D. AGINCOURT is improving. Ran on well last time despite being slow away. HIGH MAINTENANCE was not striding out last time. Best runs have been with Anthony Delpech riding. MISTY POWER needs to find a better finish.

RACE 5:

KINGSTON BOY is inconsistent but finished well last time despite hanging late. Has had an almost three month rest. TRIPTIQUE has won his last three. His first two runs were good second place finishes. Has been rested since running in Cape Town during the Summer Season there. Expect a good run from this three year old son of TRIPPI. MUSCATT won well against slightly weaker last time. EDDIE SWEAT has raced against stronger but won against weaker last time. VARLO cannot be ignored on yard success in KZN this season.

RACE 6:

ILANGA often flatters only to deceive but he could cause the upset in this race. Had his excuses last time. BIG KING was reported to be lame last time. Don't ignore. LIBERTINE won his last two, both of which were this C & D. Has been running on. CHERRY TRIPPER has shown potential but has weakened before. Is C & D suited. PRINCE OF MAGIC had his excuses last time but does look to be one that will continue to improve.

RACE 7:

HERE WE ARE cannot be faulted on recent form. Will be running on and will have the added bonus of an apprentice claim of 4kg. STORMY CAT has her problems but must not be ignored at any cost. WHISTLING WONDER is inconsistent but could earn something. PREAMBLE has yet to show on the poly but may do something this afternoon. BLACK VELVET has been weakening but is never too far back.

RACE 8:

TIMEFORATIGER ran an improved post maiden last time when found extra late. PROVERB stayed on last time and form has been improving once again. LADY AMI has been a slow starter but finished well last time and could make the frame again. SKY CASTLE ran a very good post maiden last time and had an excuse as she was carried in late. ASCOT CHARM is improving. Could place at best. BULLETEER must go into all larger permutations.
