ALLAN ROBERTSON CHAMPIONSHIP (Grade 1) - ENTISAAR wins her third race from four starts

ALLAN ROBERTSON CHAMPIONSHIP (Grade 1) - ENTISAAR wins her third race from four starts

The Mike De Kock yard won the first Grade 1 race of four on the Scottsville card on Saturday. Right from her first run when she beat SPEEDY SUZIE on debut, she showed that she has class. She repeated that this afternoon with another fine win. This win makes it three wins from four. This Australian bred two year old filly will be one to follow in the future.

The favourite and stable companion, SHAAMA, had to be taken out of the starting stalls just prior to the "off" to have her equipment adjusted. Whether that had anything to do with her indifferent run, remains to be seen.

The start was a good one for a large field of juveniles, except for PACIFICA who was slow away.. The field made a dash for the middle outside where SPEEDY SUZIE went for her favourite position, at the head of affairs. SWIFT SARAH, a six length winner on debut last time also showed good early pace and was with a shout until the latter stages. CHESTNUT N PEARLS also showed early along with the reserve runner CLASS ACT. SHAAMA showed briefly but never went on with her effort and was soundly beaten with 400m to go.

At the 500m mark, ENTISAAR, under jockey Geroudis, moved up to take the lead. Despite ducking in badly late, she held on to win a good race. PRINCESS ROYAL moved up with 200m to make a race of it along with MADAME DU BOIS and SPEEDY SUZIE who stayed on for fourth.

The win has taken ENTISAAR'S earnings to a few around R750 000.
