Louis the King retired

Geoff Woodruff Stables have announced the retirement of Triple Crown winner, Louis The King. The star colt has been disappointing in his last two efforts but was being prepared for the KZN winter season. However he was injured in training and subsequently retired.

The stable issued the following statement, "it is with great sadness that we have to announce the retirement of our Triple Crown Champion, Louis the King. Louis sustained an injury this morning at Randjesfontein while doing his routine morning workout. Future plans concerning his stud career have not yet been finalized. We thank and honor this "once in a life time horse" and will ensure he has the happiest retirement from racing."
