There are a number of first timers. Keep an eye on the betting.
1st - FINE FIONA (2); 2nd - TIMEOUS (6); 3rd - SIMLA (4); 4th - DIAMOND LEAGUE (1); 5th - ZAGORA (8)
RACE 2:
KING'S KNIGHT has good form and is the one to beat. SON OF SILVER loses ground at the start but stays on. CAPE SPEED makes his debut. Keep an eye on the betting. DESERT SUNSET has had two moderate runs and looks as though he could improve. EXIT HERE is another first timer.

RACE 3:
CORKER STALKER has shown excellent improvement in his last three runs and has finished third in all three. One to watch in this field. THE LONSDALE had his excuses last time. can make amends if repeating penultimate. TEXAS COWBOY stayed on last time and has some fair form. WAR REQUIEM ran a vastly improved latest run. Richard Fourie rides. NISA'S PRIDE makes his debut. Watch the betting.

RACE 4:
JIVE SESSION ran her best race in six last time but may need to sustain it. CHERRY ORCHARD is never far back and did stay on last time. WHISTLING DUCK ran ion for the first time last time. Has a chancer on that effort. LA GITANO has been improving with each run since making her debut three runs ago. MOONLIGHT MIST may be ready to improve.

RACE 5:
CINEMA SCOPE has made vast improvement in his last two, since having had a lengthy break. Looks set to continue in that way. SALESMAN was rewarded with a win last time for two improved runs before that. TRIPANDIE returns from a rest since last running in November. Could race fresh. GOGREASELIGHTNING is never far back but makes her polytrack debut. ROCK ME VAR was returning from an eleventh month break last time and would have needed that run.

RACE 6:
BALANCE SHEET showed excellent improvement last time when dropping in class. Remains in the same class. Did when this track last season when making his debut. The Dean Kannemeyer yard has excellent form this track. GOLDEN HIGH takes on stronger but has been improving in his last two. KRAMBAMBULI will be a factor on her great run in a feature on J & B Met Day when finishing fourth behind ERTIJAAL. TRIP TO RIO takes on stronger but may like this track.

RACE 7:
MR ROYAL has some fair form and could spring a surprise. HIS APPROVAL is usually slow away but will be running on. AL COUTURE makes his KZN debut. Poor form but may improve this track. TOLD YOU SO is also slow away. Anthony Delpech rides. HASSEN'S BID may improve on a very moderate post maiden run.

RACE 8:
AWARE drops in class but has the form to win. RISKY ROSCO has a shout on best form thus far. THRESHOLD could be improving again. This is his best distance. Anthony Delpech rides. TONTO weakens but is never that far back. NATIONAL KING has his problems. May improve with S'Manga Khumalo aboard.
