GLAMOUR GAL runs her best races this C & D and finished well in her latest run. EMERALD ROSE has been consistent and is still improving. KING'S KITTEN weakens late but could place. ANGLET won her maiden at the second attempt last time. Two good runs thus far but she may need to confirm. CHISANYAMA is still a maiden but there appears to be some improvement to come. RED HOT LADY was well ridden when winning her maiden at the second try last time. Bernard Fayd'Herbe rides again. A factor again. NORDIC WIND had four good runs before she won her maiden last time. Is not out of it here and will be running on. DIAMOND improved to win her maiden at the fourth attempt last time. May place.

RACE 3:
LORD MARSHAL, son of HORSES CHESTNUT, won his maiden at the third attempt last time. he had two good runs before that and should go close to winning. The ease with which he won last time suggests that he has finally turned the corner. ERNIE has good post maiden form and should be finishing well. FLY LIKE THE WIND won on debut in PE last time. It will be interesting to see whether that form holds up well or not. POLITICAL POWER ran against far stronger in his post maiden last time. Watch for improvement. PRINCE OF THIEVES had three good maiden runs in which he finished less than a length back in ll four before winning last time. Must go close.
1st - LORD MARSHAL (3); 2nd - ERNIE (1); 3rd - FLY LIKE THE WIND (2); 4th - POLITICAL POWER (4); 5th - PRINCE OF THIEVES (5)
RACE 4:
PETTY OFFICER won last time carrying top weight. Does so again this afternoon and has good form. Despite the good form she does appear to prefer 1400m. BLACK KITTEN has been improving and has a light mass. Tackles stronger today. OMATICAYA has lost form but a repeat of the effort of two runs back could see her feature. STAR JET died not show last time but has run well before. TRUE ASSET is inconsistent but could pop up.
1st - PETTY OFFICER (1); 2nd - BLACK KITTEN (6); 3rd - OMATICAYA (3); 4th - STAR JET (2); 5th - TRUE ASSET (4)
RACE 5: STORMSVLEI MILE (Listed) - SEVEN GRAND is still improving
The three year old Australian bred filly, SEVEN GRAND has improved in her last two to challenge for top honours in this afternoon's first feature race at Kenilworth. Trainer Mike Bass who has not been having the best of Winter Seasons in Durban this year could change that back in his home town, Cape Town. The three year old filly has improved sufficiently in her last three starts to suggest that she could win. She has faced stronger fields than this before. She did win her maiden over a year ago. Stable jockey, Grant van Niekerk did win that maiden aboard.
MOONSONG MAGIC is in top form and on that form looks to have the credentials to win. She has won two from three starts this C & D and she will be finishing well.
SUNSET TRIPP rallied well to get up on the line over shorter last time. She has raced this distance before but failed to show that day. She is bred to stay the mile and is not without a chance.
CAT AND THE MOON has won against much stronger. Meets SUNSET TRIPP on 1 kg worse terms for a one length loss last time.
CRYSTAL CAVERN could cause an upset, especially with S'Manga Khumalo aboard. He has ridden her to victory when he partnered her to victory two runs back.
1st - SEVEN GRAND (5); 2nd - MOONSONG MAGIC (3); 3rd - SUNSET TRIPP (2); 4th - CAT AND THE MOON (1); 5th - CRYSTAL CAVERN (4)
RACE 6: WINTER CLASSIC (Grade 3) - NIGHT IN SEATTLE
NIGHT IN SEATTLE will have his work cut out in this race but he does look to be the right one to win the main race and the second feature on on the Kenilworth eight race card. He has not always had things go his way but on his day is more than capable of pulling off this one. He should get the distance.
SAIL FOR GOLD has been rising rapidly in class. He is a hard working sort and does not go down without a fight. He ran a good race when finishing just over a length in second behind ACT OF WAR when starting at 50/1 last time.
ROYAL DREAMER found a very good finish when finishing behind SAIL FOR GOLD last time. They meet each other at level weights.
FIRE MASTER goes this far for the first time but is bred to get this far and more. Has had his problems but should pick up his second win soon. This will be his toughest race to date but at the weights can hope for a place at best.
PARACHUTE MAN also takes on stronger but did run on late last time. Gavin Lerena rides.
1st - NIGHT IN SEATTLE (4); 2nd - SAIL FOR GOLD (2); 3rd - ROYAL DREAMER (3); 4th - FIRE MASTER (7); 5th - PARACHUTE MAN (9)
RACE 7: OLYMPIC DUEL STAKES (Listed) - ALS BONANZA may race fresh after rest
ALS BONANZA has been rested since late January when winning this C & D. All four of his wins have been over this C & D. She is a talented daughter of CAPTAIN AL and she could have benefited from the four month long break. Two runs back she ran a good fourth behind COLD AS ICE in a stronger handicap and is certainly one to consider as one's value bet for the day. She normally stays on well and will be looking for soft going. Jockey MJ Byleveld has partnered her in all four victories for the Vaughan Marshall inmate, owned by the most familiar silks in the country, Ingrid and Markus Jooste.
MISS SAIGON is never far back. On her day she will be doing her best work late, but doesn't always do that. PURE POWER will be finishing well and the Mike Bass yard will be looking for a change in feature race fortune this afternoon. She won well against weaker last time.
JET SUPREME ran against INARA in her previous two starts before facing quite a bit weaker than that last time. She did run an improved race and at this level must have a shout.
LANNER FALCON won well at this level last time. Has 63½kg to carry which may find her out in the latter stages. One can never rule out the chances of this daughter of TRIPPI.
1st - ALS BONANZA (8); 2nd - MISS SAIGON (5); 3rd - PURE POWER (13); 4th - JET SUPREME (2); 5th - LANNER FALCON (1)
RACE 8:
ROMAN SILVANUS has good form but could have found the 1800m too far at this stage. Will be better the shorter trip today. OLIMPIC AIRWAYS was bumped at the start last time. Give another chance. SIR HENRY showed some improvement last time. Consider. MY FRIEND FRED improved by fourteen lengths in his second start last time. Watch for further improvement. MAGICAL MOUNTAIN may improve the shorter trip for now.
1st - ROMAN SILVANUS (1); 2nd - OLIMPIC AIRWAYS (3); 3rd - SIR HENRY (4); 4th - MY FRIEND FRED (8); 5th - MAGICAL MOUNTAIN (5)
