Lot 11, an magnificent daughter of former champion 2yo Argonaut has some really cracking two-year-olds to his name in 2014-2015. The son of Western Winter’s juveniles include the impressive debut winner Natal, as well as Gr.3 Godolphin Barb second and potential Gr.1 contender Beat The Retreat. He is also the sire of this attractive filly, who is out of the superbly bred Jet Master mare Allez Afrique. The latter is a winning half sister to Gr.1 Cape Flying Championship hero O Caesour. This is the wonderful Enchanting family, responsible for numerous top horses, including this season’s brilliant Gr.1 SA Fillies Classic winner Siren’s Call. This filly has been bred on a similar cross to the one that produced Gr.1 winners Surveyor, Yard-Arm, Captown Noir, Bad Girl Runs, Set Afire, Ice Cube and Reveille Boy. Jet Master as a broodmare sire has already produced the likes of Gr.2 winner Here Comes Billy, Silvano’s Jet, Chestnut’s Rocket and She’s A Pippa.

Lot 12, an magnificent daughter of former Irish 2000 Guineas winner Spectrum has more than left his mark on the breed, with his offspring including the likes of 2000 Guineas hero Golan and Epsom Derby second Tartan Bearer. He is also the sire of this filly out of Americas Cup – a winning half sister to former Gr.1 J&B Met winner Martial Eagle. This filly’s damsire is the hugely successful Rich Man’s Gold – also broodmare sire of former SASCOC Triple Crown winner Louis The King and Gr.1 winners Wagner & Athina.

Lot 24, The blue blooded Mambo In Seattle (a three parts brother to US superstar Lemon Drop Kid, Mambo is out of an own sister to champion sire A P Indy) has made a superb start to his South African stud career. Mambo’s first crop includes the Gr.1 winning millionaire Same Jurisdiction, while he also has a number of uber promising 2yos in his second crop. He is the sire of this striking colt out of Banco – a Fort Wood half sister to the Gr.1 winning siblings Alpha Omega and Final Claim. This well bred colt’s second dam is none other than Broodmare Of The Year Ollies Last and hails from the famous Olivia family. This colt has been bred on a similar cross to the one that produced Gr.1 winners Divine Proportions, Campanlogist, Henrythenavigator, Timber Country, El Condor Pasa, Final Claim, Thewayyouare, Virginia Waters, Whipper, Kingdom Of Life, Forest Indigo and Dubai Mellennium. This colts broodmare sire Fort Wood has produced 8 individual Gr.1 winners as a broodmare sire including Thunder Dance, BouquetGarni, Capetown Noir, Cherry on the Top, Royal Aproval, Contador, Forest Indigo and Mokaro. He is one of the top broodmare sires in SA.

 

 

Lot 91, Ashaawes has another nice type to his credit in the form of the filly out of Golden Glamour.
Golden Glamour is a Model Man half sister to high class 2yo Qui Success, and this is the family of Madame Dubois 3rd runner up in the Allan Robertson Fillies Championship Gr.1 and Argentinian champion sprinter Vacacion. Model Man is an exceptional broodmare sire, with his daughters having bred such Gr.1 performers as Along Came Polly, National Spirit, Pointing North and star sprinter Fly By Night. This filly has been bred on a similar cross to the one that produced Gr.1 winner Along Came Polly.

Lot 99, Promising young sire A P Answer made a cracking start to his stud career, with his first crop including Gr.1 colt Beckedorf and high class filly Print The Pounds. He is the sire of an exceptional filly out of the beautifully bred mare Hidden Silver – a winning Silvano half sister to Gr.2 SA Fillies Nursery winner Hidcote Blue. This is the famed family of champions Imperious Sue and Victory Moon, as well as such high class performers as Gr.2 Astrapak 1900 winner Royal Air Force and Gr.1 Woolavington Stakes winner Imperial Ice.

Lot 104, a magnificent son of former Vodacom Durban July winning champion Greys Inn has enjoyed a superb season in 2014-2015, with his runners including top sprinter Chekilli and Gr.1 SA Derby hero Legal Eagle. One of two SA Derby winners by Greys Inn thus far, Legal Eagle looks a leading contender for the 2015 Vodacom Durban July. This colt is out of a winning daughter of champion sire and outstanding broodmare sire Al Mufti, and hails from the prolific Miss Lindeman family responsible for such Gr.1 winners as Little Miss Magic, Priceless Asset, State Treasure and former Equus champion Tara’s Touch. A colt with royal bloodlines, he is out of a mare by champion broodmare sire Al Mufti, whose daughters have produced the likes of Gr.1 winners Yorker, Jay Peg, Elusive Gold, Bold Silvano, Smart Banker, King’s Gambit, O Caesour, Devine Jury, Heir Apparent and Little Miss Magic to mention just a few!

Lot 141, Outstanding sprinter and multiple Gr.1 winner Warm White Night has made a superb start to his stud career and currently rates as the leading first crop sire in South Africa (by winners). The son of champion sire Western Winter is also the sire of this fine colt out of Margarita Maggie – a three time winning daughter of British Champion Sprinter and tremendous speed influence Cadeaux Genereux. This well bred handsome colt comes from a wonderfully successful female line, with his relatives including Epsom Derby winner Golden Fleece and champion sire Be My Guest. This colt has been bred on a similar cross to the one that produced Gr.1 winners Bad Girl Runs and Grand Slam. Cadeaux Genereux has produced 4 individual Gr.1 winners as a broodmare sire including Champion Sprinter Dream Ahead, Notnowcato, Ashkal Way and Rajeem.

Lot 148, “My pick of the colts for the sale”. Var is a hugely successful and popular stallion, whose yearlings have fetched up to R4 million in 2015. The sire of legendary champion Variety Club is enjoying a superb season this year, with his runners include such talented two-year-olds as Isca, Juan Two Three and Tar Heel. Var is also the sire of this awesome colt out of the winning Northern Guest mare Model Guest whose seven previous winners include Gr.3 hero London Guest. Second dam Magic Model is a Gr.2 winning half sister to legendary Boland Stud bred champion Senor Santa, and this is the wonderful Drohsky family. This colt has been bred on a similar cross to the one that produced Gr.1 winners Val De Ra, Via Africa and Contador. This colt is out of a mare by champion broodmare sire Northern Guest, a truly great influence on the modern South African stud book. Northern Guest mares have produced 11 Gr.1 winners such top-class performers as July winner Pomodoro, champion sprinter J J The Jet Plane, Champion 3YO Let’s Rock’N Roll and Gr.1 Avontuur Estate Cape Fillies Guineas winner In The Fast Lane. Northern Guest is also the broodmare sire of La Massine – dam of dual Horse of the Year, and the second top rated horse in the world, Variety Club.

 

Lot 149, Argonaut is the sire of this lovely filly out of Model Nation – a National Emblem half sister to Gr.3 winner London Guest, who earned nearly R500 000 in stakes. From the family of Gr.1 stars Flight Alert and Senor Santa, this filly’s damsire National Emblem is enjoying a remarkable run of success as a broodmare sire, through the likes of Gr.1 SA Derby hero Legal Eagle, Captain's Emblem, Oracle News, Lady Magpie, Kinematic Countess, Fox Hun and star 2yo Seventh Plain, to name but a few. This filly has been bred on a similar cross to the one that produced Gr.1 winners Grand Slam and Capetown Noir.

Lot 168, Kingmambo’s well bred son Ashaawes has been a consistently successful sire since retiring to stud a few years ago. Amongst Ashaawes’ top runners are the likes of Dubai World Cup contender Sanshaawes, top filly Priceless Jewel, and Gr.3 Matchem Stakes victor Reim. Ashaawes is the sire of this beautiful filly, whose dam Palm Blue is a winning half sister to Gr.2 filly Margaret Court. This is the famed Party Time family, responsible for numerous outstanding fillies, including last season’s Equus Champion In The Fast Lane, who is currently in training with William Haggas in the UK. This filly’s damsire Saumarez made headlines when featuring as the broodmare sire of Epsom Derby winner Authorized. Saumarez daughters have also produced the likes of Gentlewave Champion 3YO in Italy, Les Beaufs Champion 3YO Stayer in France to mention just a few!

Lot 189, Champion sprinter Rebel King was an outstanding athlete, who earned more than R2 million on the track. He has sired a rash of winners lately, including recent black type performers La Rebel and Royal Dreamer.
This eye-catching Rebel King filly, out of Gr.3 2yo Qui Success, is intensely inbred to the great sire Danzig an increasingly successful mating responsible for such outstanding Gr.1 winners as All Too Hard, Biz The Nurse, Brazean Beau, I’ll Have Another and 2015’s leading classic hope Cursory Glance. Her dam sire is Qui Danzig – whose daughters have excelled at stud, and whom is the broodmare sire of such Gr.1 winners as Buy And Sell, Pierre Jourdan and current sprinting sensation, Via Africa. This filly is bred to be everything. This truly great filly family produced one of the greatest equine females ever seen in Argentina – South Vagabunda – a true Champion and Madame Dubois 3rd runner up in the Allan Robertson Fillies Championship Gr.1. Lot 200, Ever green sire Windrush, sire of numerous stars including champion Mother Russia, is enjoying another good season, with his runners including Gr.1 SA Classic second Amsterdam and recent feature race winner The Angelus. His imposing daughter here is out of the well performed Silvano mare Romantic Moon – a Gr.3 placed winner of eight. This is a top class North American family, and this filly’s relatives include former top sprinter and Gr.1 Mercury Sprint winner All Will Be Well as well as former US Champion 2YO Colt and successful sire Silent Screen.

 

 

 

 


Lot 208, Warm White Night, a top class performer by Western Winter who won both the Gr.1 Gold Medallion and Gr.1 Cape Flying Championship, is also represented in the Boland draft by this cracking colt out of Scarlet Grits. The latter, by emerging broodmare sire Parade Leader, is a half sister to the talented Western Winter son Storm Crossing, a stakes winner of eight. A three parts brother in blood to Storm Crossing, this colt is from the wonderful Corn family, and his relatives include former Horse Of The Year Irish Flame. His broodmare sire Parade Leader is already damsire of Western Winter’s Gr.1 son Kingvoldt as well as recent Gr.2 KRA Fillies Guineas winner Alexis. This colt has been bred on a similar cross to the one that produced Gr.2 performer Storm Crossing who is from this very family.

Lot 233,”My pick of the fillies for the sale” a magnificent daughter of former Irish Champion 2YO and G1 National Stakes hero Pathfork has proved hugely popular with his first crop fetching up to R700 000 in 2015 thus far. A son of champion US sire Distorted Humor, Pathfork hails from the same family as such champion sires as El Gran Senor, Northern Guest, Redoute’s Choice and Try My Best. He is the sire of this lovely filly out of Street Cred – a winning half sister to Gr.3 winner Model Guest. Street Cred, by champion sire and top broodmare sire Jallad, hails from the wonderful Drohsky female line with her close relatives including such champions as Flight Alert and Senor Santa.
This filly has been bred on a similar cross to the one that produced Gr.1 winners Give Me Five and Aesop’s Fables. This filly is out of a mare by former champion sire Jallad, who has become an outstanding broodmare sire. To date, Jallad mares have produced more than 20 stakes winners, including champion sprinter Shea Shea, Gr.1 Cape Guineas hero Solo Traveller, millionaire Run For It, and former Gr.1 J&B Met hero Martial Eagle.
