RACE 5:

ENCHANTED SILK has raced against much stronger. This will be her first time on the polytrack. With trainer Sean Tarry and jockey S'Manga Khumalo in such "hot" form, this race looks to be suited for her. MAMASITA did not show against stronger last time. She has won this C & D before and has a good shout in this field. GRAND EPOQUE has had two good post maiden runs, but against weaker. Improvement could be forthcoming. PROVERB is still a maiden but can fill a minor placing at best. CASHA has moderate form in her last two when losing ground at the start. A good break on terms today could improve her winning chances in this race.

RACE 6:

BARACAH presents the Sean Tarry/S'Manga Khumalo combinations with another chance of winning another feature. BARACAH finished strongly last time in a stronger division to finish just under two lengths behind RUSHMORE RIVER. he last ran at Turffontein two months ago and will have benefited from the short break. Hasn't won in over a year though. HIS APPROVAL loses ground at the start but makes up ground fast in the letter stages. One to consider for the win as well. BIG BIRD was not disgraced last time. This is stronger but the 51kg makes some appeal. JOSHUAS CROWN drops in class and is also inclined to be slow to go. MAI THAIGA needs to find a better finish.

RACE 7:

Gauteng trainer, Alec Laird, sends out BEZANOVA. He has some good form at this track and BEZANOVA ran third to LEGISLATE in the Gold Challenge a few weeks ago. The fact that he was just under a length back that day makes his chances even stronger. WILD ONE ran on powerfully last time in his comeback run after an eleven month break. Should be an even fitter proposition this afternoon. His penultimate run was in the Grade 1 Gold Cup when he ran second, when running on to within half a length of the winner. Big chance. SOLAR STAR should also be in the mix. WAY OF LIGHT has very good form but all against weaker. May improve this level. FRONT RANK has a small money chance on his latest run.

RACE 8:

TRANSLUNAR will be running on. He drops in class and should go close in this lineup. ROY'S WINTER PATCH takes on stronger but showed good improvement last time when running on late. Only win was on the polytrack. The 51kg to be carried makes some appeal. IT IS WRITTEN stayed on last time. Watch the Dean Kannemeyer/Anthony Delpech combination. GULLIVERS TRAVELS has been knocking on the door. Has had his problems. Ignore the latest effort by BUFFALO BILL. He fell that day. Can make amends.

RACE 9:

RESPECT AT BAY is lightly raced. She won her first two starts and has continued to improve in her following two. Ran on well against weaker last time. Has a shout on form. OVERLAP is slow but last time produced one powerful finish to finish a close up fourth. Look for further improvement. RED LABEL has good form at this level and is already a five time winner from fifteen starts. Could add to that tally in this race. EUPHORIA has been racing against much stronger. Yard has been doing well in KZN with their Gauteng based horses. Anton Marcus has the ride. Watch! SEPTEMBER STORM could be improving again. Has an upset chance.
