PREVIEW: VAAL (TURF) - 30 JUNE 2015
RACE 1:
KAHAL LEGAL should go close on his debut run last time. Unsupported that day which will not be the case today. RAINBOW STAR has improved in his last three starts. Was unlucky in penultimate. RED SAVAGE is never far back but was caught on the line last time over much further. ROYAL MASTER is the son of JET MASTER making his debut. SEVENTH HEIRESS could be the big improver this afternoon.
1st - KAHAL LEGAL (8); 2nd - RAINBOW STAR (2); 3rd - RED SAVAGE (1); 4th - ROYAL MASTER (9); 5th - SEVENTH HEIRESS (13)
RACE 2:
ANASA has had two very good runs and should to beat this afternoon. SHE'S A FLIRT has steady form but may have more to find to beat ANASA. WINTER'S HOPE looks to be improving again, albeit slowly. RUSSIAN FRIEND weakened latter stages last time when making her debut. Two year old taking on stronger. SHEIK'S DIAMOND is another two year old who can earn something.

RACE 3:
COUNTERSTROKE will be running on and is by far the form horse in this race. Yet to be out of the first three in all four of his starts to date. ASZKABAN disappointed last time when not striding out. Chance on first two starts. MICHAEL JOHN makes his debut. Keep an eye on the betting. BE BRAVE showed some improvement last time. GOLD STATUS has shown good improvement in his last two starts.
1st - COUNTERSTROKE (3); 2nd - ASZKABAN (1); 3rd - MICHAEL JOHN (13); 4th - BE BRAVE (7); 5th - GOLD STATUS (5)
RACE 4:
BELLEVUE ran on well last time and should go close. Has only placed over this distance. VICTOR'S CASTLE has a strong claim on her two latest starts when moving up well late. SCARLETT ICE must be respected on trainer's excellent form. ANGEL'S SMILE disappointed last time after a better debut two runs back. MISRISTOCRAT is a reserve runner with three decent runs from three starts.
1st - BELLEVUE (3); 2nd - VICTOR'S CASTLE (2); 3rd - SCARLETT ICE (1); 4th - ANGEL'S SMILE (12); 5th - MISRISTOCRAT (15)
RACE 5:
LAVENDER LANDSCAPE won his last two but both on the sand track. Has won twice at this track so should be a contender again. ON THE NOD is never far back and did get going late last time. PACIFIC G is improving and did run on late last time. SILVER MATADOR ran a fair post maiden last time. May improve. STRONGMIND ran his best race in a long long time last time. One to watch!

RACE 6:
CAPRICORN RIDGE has not raced in almost ten months but did show improvement in his last run before the break. Could just about sneak in against this weakish field. BEACH IN A BOTTLE was well rewarded for consistency last time. Has very good form but against weaker. Chance on form. BOY BOY is another with good form against weaker. Runs on well and should be in the shake up. URGENT FURY ran on to win as well last time and has also won this C & D before. LUCKY LUCIANO weakened late last time in an improved run. WOZA MADODA could place as well.
1st - CAPRICORN RIDGE (1); 2nd - BEACH IN A BOTTLE (4); 3rd - BOY BOY (6); 4th - URGENT FURY (9); 5th - LUCKY LUCIANO (5)
RACE 7:
RAFA won impressively against slightly weaker last time over this C & D. Respect any win by over three lengths and this three year old who caused an upset last time could do likewise this afternoon. SHANNON'S BOY has steady form against weaker but with only 52kg on his back must come into the reckoning. JO MALONE has good form against stronger but she is still a three year old filly taking on the "boys". Cannot be omitted. KAYHALADIN failed to finish with any great gusto last time but can still earn. DREAM LEADER also failed to kick on last time. If COHIBA can find that late burst then he could be a threat, even in this stronger field.

RACE 8:
BRIGTNUMBERFOUR won by just under four lengths against similar opposition last time, but that was on sand. Has won on the turf but not at this track, where she still has to earn in three starts. NINIVAH has won this C & D. Must have a shout if producing a good late burst. CORAL KEY can earn with only 52kg on her back. Not her favourite track either though. USISI must be respected on current form. LADY AL needs to find something late to win but can place.
