DURBAN GOLDEN HORSESHOE (Grade 1) - Seventh heaven for SEVENTH PLAIN in a thriller at Greyville
Durban trainer, Dennis Drier won his second Grade 1 feature race on the day when his excellent two year old colt. SEVENTH PLAIN produced an exhilirating finish to win a closely fought out finish with the outsider and maiden, BRAZUCA. In the previious race trainer Dennis Drier won on CHESTNUTS 'N PEARLS with Sean Cormack. This time it was jockey Anton Marcus in the irons. It was another Grade 1 winner for owners Ingrid and Markus Jooste.
The break was a good one with the favourite breaking best of all but was settled in behind the leader. It was left to ARABIAN BEAT to lead the field. SEVENTH PLAIN raced in second as was handily placed throughout. MUWAARY was also handily place.
The pace was good throughout. The real excitement came in the last 200m when Anton Marcus produced an excellent finish to get up from a fast finishing maiden BRAZUCA who should not be too long in picking up his maiden win. ARABIAN BEAT ran a good race in third when staying on and should win his fair share of races as a three year old.
SEVENTH PLAIN has now won four of his five starts. His stakes earned are now less than R100 000 below the R1 million.
