RACE 5:

WESTERN WU won well on the turf over slightly further last time. Was unlucky the time before on the polytrack. Can repeat latest effort. BERTLE TURTLE weakens but is never far back. LAWS OF SUCCESSION has had two decent post maiden runs. Should be in the mix. DANDYMAN CAN looks to be improving. REBEL HOUSE has been coming along nicely in his last three runs.

RACE 6:

MING WARRIOR ran on well and late against slightly stronger last time and on the polytrack. SPECTACULAR JET is also down in class and has the form to mount a strong challenge. GOLD FLIGHT needs to find a better finish. Can earn something. WINNING EDGE has improved in his last two, both on the polytrack. A possibility. NEW SPRING has not won for almost two years.

RACE 7: EAST CAPE PADDOCK STAKES (Listed) - STRONG SCENT could be worth following

With the race meeting at Greyville postponed this weekend until next Saturday, only two feature races out of nine remain. The first of the two feature races has also been affected by rain. The race meeting, previously scheduled for the turf track has been moved to the polytrack. This in itself may pose a few problems for punters.

The five year old mare STRONG SCENT has been in very good form., especially on the turf track. She has had good runs on the poly but with most horses in the field pretty much in the same boat as it were, this may not be too much of a problem. She has already won over the distance and she runs on powerfully at the end.

One horse that should benefit hugely from the move of tracks is FACINATING FILLY who has shown excellent form on this surface with four of her five wins at this track. She steps up in distance and class but should see out the "mile". Expect to see her feature in the latter stages of the race.

The current antepost favourite is EROS'S GIRL who is a progressive three year old filly. She hasn't raced for three months and when she last ran had won two in a row. Both runs were over further, but she has won over distances ranging from 1000m to 2000m. She has yet to run on this track, but has shown improvement in PE. She will be finishing well and must be one with a very good chance.

GOLDIE COAST makes her PE debut as well as her polytrack debut. She last ran three months ago and has run well over the distance. She is definitely capable of running into the money even though she takes on stronger.

SUPREME SUNSET was finishing well last time and she raids from Cape Town where she has faced some stronger fields, but not recently. She showed very good improvement last time when running on well late into the race.

RACE 8:

CRACKPOT drops in class but was an unlucky loser last time. Will be finishing well. FIVE MOONS is a slow starter but does finish well. KEY NOTE is never far back and will also be running on at the end. GOLDIVA was a surprise winner last time. Could surprise again. HAZEL JAY is better than her latest effort. Money chance.

RACE 9:

THE LEADER BOY could cause a major upset on a difficult card. he has shown some improvement in his last three races, all of which have been at this track. At 25/1 he does show good value and could be worth having a few place bets on. He started at 100/1 last time and did not finish badly despite being bumped at the start. SUN FLASH has only won this C & D and could also be finishing well. PIKASTAR has improved since moving away from Cape Town. His only win was on turf though. FIRST SURPRISE has lost form and his last two runs were way below par. Chance if repeating earlier form. CAPTAIN SLIPPER was not disgraced in his post maiden last time. Won his maiden this C & D at the second attempt two runs back.
