RACE 5:

BLACKMORE take3s up step up in class but he did win his last two in comfort mode. Loves this C & D and boasts two wins this C & D. ZUBBADUBBADOO also steps up in class but he has won his last three after having made a good debut the run before that. ALPHA PEGASI drops in class. He has good form against stronger and was running on last time. Should be in the mix. OLYMPIAN came back to best last time. SEVEN GRAND i never far back but can claim a small prize.

RACE 6: CHAMPAGNE STAKES (WFA)(Grade 3) - LANNER FALCON well weighted to win

A small field but classy fillies face the starter in the only Saturday feature race. LANNER FALCON, the Mike Bass trained four year old daughter of TRIPPI has very good form and is extremely well weighted to take this race. She is extremely versatile and has already won twice over this distance. Her latest run was a particularly good one when she drew away from the opposition to win well over 1600m. She faced some stronger fields than this during the Cape Summer season. Jockey Grant Van Niekerk who has won all six races with her, rides again this afternoon. Expect another big run. She runs well in either good or soft going.

ALS BONANZA has won on four occasions. All four wins have come on this track. Could this be another feature race win for the Joostes? While the Ingrid and Markus Jooste colours have been powering home in the feature races this season, so have the progeny of CAPTAIN AL. She must have a chance if LANNER FALCON fluffs her lines.

JET SUPREME looks to be better over further, but she did bounce back to form last time over 1800m. She must come into the reckoning if she takes to sprinting again. PRICELESS JEWEL has not run since January but has been racing against stronger fields. She runs well this C & D where three of her eight wins have come. She can run in to the money. NTOMBE ran on well to win over shorter last time. She has adapted well to conditions in Cape Town and could earn, even if it is against stronger.

RACE 7:

EVOKE EMOTION has won this C & D and improved to win last time over further. This will be tougher. Apprentice claim will help. UP IN LIGHTS is currently holding form well and has been running on. CASADESUS has only run three times but looks promising. She finished a distant fourth on debut and then proceeded to win her next two. This will be tougher but watch for the natural improvement. Hasn't run for five months. ELUSIVE STARS has fair form and can place. BLACK KITTEN had his problems last time. Is better than that run.

RACE 9:

PAOLO has found good form and finished strongly in his last two. He won his latest run very well and he has won this C & D. FRIENDLY TIBBS is also in good form and with an apprentice claiming is 6kg better off than PAOLO for a three length difference between the two. Could reverse the order. JOHNNY ROCKETS is 3kg better off that PAOLO for an even wider length difference. May improve. NO RESISTANCE could be improving against weaker. READYTOGORIGHTNOW could be finding form again and is one to consider.

RACE 10:

WITCHERY has been making good progress in her last two starts and must have a very good chance. Will be running on. MONEY SURGER drops in class and was running on strongly last time. OFF RAMP needs a better finish than last time. SHINGLE BEACH has shown excellent improvement in her last two starts. Should be involved in the finish this afternoon. FIRST OF MAY has steady form and did stay on well last time. Money chance.
