Herron joins Inglis

Managing Director Mark Webster today announced a further strengthening to the company’s bloodstock team with the appointment of leading agent James Harron as a consultant.

“We are delighted to engage someone of the calibre of James Harron to our team as we embark on the selection process for next year’s yearling sales. James is one of Australia’s leading bloodstock agents and has an outstanding knowledge of what buyers are looking for in the Australian Yearling Sale ring,” said Webster.

Having purchased the likes of Group 1 winning colts Foxwedge and Wandjina from the Inglis Easter Yearling Sale in recent years, James Harron Bloodstock and Inglis already share a strong business relationship.

James will be sitting in with the Inglis team over the next four days as they assess the pedigrees of over 3500 entries to the company’s 2016 yearling sales and will then accompany members of the bloodstock team as they travel around Australia physically inspecting each and every horse nominated to the Inglis Select Yearling Sales Series.

Inglis’ National Bloodstock Director Jonathan D’Arcy stated “our team are thrilled that we will have the opportunity to gain from James’ insights on buyers and what he looks for when selecting a yearling. I think it will also provide a chance for our clients to meet James on their property and learn a little about what he likes in a young horse. James will be assisting us with the recruitment of yearlings, broodmares and weanlings to all our sales in 2016.”

“I am greatly looking forward to viewing the 2016 crop of yearlings with Inglis, and to assisting the team in servicing their clients as we hit the road for inspections,” explains James. "When the time comes to be back in buying mode for JHB clients at the 2016 sales series it will be very much business as usual, aiming to source and secure the future stars."

D’Arcy added “James Harron adds to the outstanding group of consultants we are lucky to have supporting our company. With Michael Otto and Michael Wallace doing a great job recruiting horses and buyers for us in New Zealand, plus Satomi Oka and Paul Guy promoting our sales in Japan and South Africa respectively I believe we have the strongest network of industry professionals anywhere in the world to service our clients and provide support for all our breeders looking to sell horses with us at Newmarket or Oaklands.”
