RUNAWAY TIME runs for the fortieth time as a maiden. Last run was a particularly good one. Runs well on the polytrack. JACARANDA FLOWER is in good form on the poly. Should be right there. CALICO is another good runner on the poly. Has her problems but can earn. JOLENE stays on, occasionally. Yet to show on poly. GARDEN QUEEN makes her debut. Watch the betting.

RACE 2:

BOSTON PARTICLE was not disgraced against stronger last time. RED HAZE has had a string of five good runs. Best was at this track. NEWCREST was backed on debut last time but never really showed. Give another chance. ROMAN GARRISON made a good debut three runs back but has progressively become worse! TIGER TIM has run on the Greyville polytrack. Makes his PE debut. Could improve.

RACE 3:

RAVE KING improved nicely in his second run last time. Both runs on turf. WILD NIGHT OUT ran on when making his debut last time. Was still six lengths back. SINGITA LEBOMBO ran his best race in eight last time. That was at this track. OCCASIONAL REBEL made some improvement at this track last time in his second start. FONTENOY has had four consecutive fourths from four starts, two of which have been at this track.

RACE 4:

SYMBOLIK has been staying on. Only one run on this surface, but never showed that day. Chance on improved latest. ASTRO NEWS drops in class and has won at this track. WOODEN STAR has his issues but has won on the polytrack on three occasions before. MERCURIAL BRAVE showed marginal improvement last time. MONEY GRUBBER has a chance if running on.

RACE 5: JOCKEY CLUB STAKES (Listed) 3rd Leg Eastern Cape (F & M) Challenge - BRIDE'S DOWRY, well suited to the polytrack, looks the one to beat

The first feature race in this country for a while takes place on the Fairview polytrack this afternoon. It must be noted that the race has been moved from the turf to the polytrack for this meeting.

BRIDE'S DOWRY has been racing in this division in two of her last three and has good form with two wins in her last three runs. The Tara Laing yard has been in top form. She will be finishing well and is well suited to the distance. BRIDE'S DOWRY has won on the polytrack so a switch in track will not have any adverse effect and with a draw of two could be even harder to beat than at first meets the eye.

CAT AN THE MOON brings excellent Cape Town form to Port Elizabeth. The way in which she won her last two races on the turf at Kenilworth, either side of today's distance were impressive. The only concern could be whether she will take to the polytrack. Trainer Justin Snaith would not have sent to Port Elizabeth had he not had the confidence of a good run.

RARE STONE has good form, but on turf. Her two runs on the polytrack were not up to those on turf. Nevertheless she does stay on and can find a minor money placing at best.

ROCKIN THE DAISIES is inconsistent and takes on stronger than last time. Can fill a minor placing. She makes her PE debut and as a result has only raced on turf. She may be a filly that takes an instant liking to the polytrack.

DREAM TO REALITY is never too far back. She is versatile and can run equally well on both surfaces. If she decides to run on again this afternoon then she can certainly earn something. The drop in class should also suit.

RACE 6:

AL DON CUMARCO finished well last time despite having to be switched for a run. COPPER PARADE is a seasoned and battle hardened campaigner who has faced the best sprinters in the country for the past five or six years. RUSSIAN MIG will more than likely be running on late. VILLA DEL LAGO has not won in almost two years. Money chance though. BOBBY JAMES stays on well and could be a factor.

RACE 7:

RUSTIC ROMANCE will prefer the move to the polytrack. DISTILLER ran on well last time. Can show on the basis of that run. HOUSE OF LORRAINE ran well against stronger last time, but looks to prefer the turf. MISS FRISKIE has more to find on current form. Has won at this track. ARROW HEART ran on strongly to win at this track last time. Must have a chance of repeating.

RACE 8:

This is an extremely difficult race. PIPETTE has the form but never showed in her only start on the polytrack. On form she must have a decent chance. The reserve runner VADE MECUM comes into the race with two scratchings. She has been flying late on the turf. Must have a chance if repeating that form here this afternoon. SILENT RUSH has not shown in the two runs since moving from Gauteng. JUDSTONE did improve last time. Question mark over the change of track. THRILL FACTOR is holding form well. Has run a decent race on this track.
