PREVIEW: SCOTTSVILLE - 4 OCTOBER 2015
RACE 1:
Well bred first timers take their places in this race and the betting could be your best guide. Of those that have run, GOODNIGHT NURSE could be worth following. Pay special attention to SUBLIME CODE who did have his problems on his debut run but should go close in this field.
1st - GOODNIGHT NURSE (1); 2nd - FAREEQ (5); 3rd - COZZENES PRINCE (4); 4th - SUBLIME CODE (13); 5th - BRAVE KNIGHT (3)
RACE 2:
GHALIYA is a well bred first timer from the Mike De Kock yard. Keep an eye on the betting. CHAPEL QUEEN is improving with each run. Two good recent runs and should go close. ELUSIVENCHANTMENT is an ELUSIVE FORT first timer. Watch the betting. HANNAH'S ANSWER has shown good improvement with each run. Has had a problem at the starts in each of her three starts though. ROYAL VISIONAIRE is a VISIONAIRE first timer. Watch!

RACE 3:
SNOWMAN has very good post maiden form. Runs well at this track and should fight this one out. SPLIT THE BREEZE takes a big drop in class. is definitely one to be considered. Lightly raced this year. BEAT THE RETREAT ran on last time. Money chance. EXECUTIVE POWER ran a decent post maiden last time. Has cope to improve further. CHOSEN DASH has a minor place chance on the drop in class for this race.
1st - SNOWMAN (4); 2nd - SPLIT THE BREEZE (1); 3rd - BEAT THE RETREAT (5); 4th - EXECUTIVE POWER (6); 5th - HIGHWAY EXPLORER (2)
RACE 4:
This should be a straight fight between ROY'S ROLLS ROYCE and SOLDIER'S CODE. ROY'S ROLLS ROYCE has had his chances but has also been expensive to follow. He could get it right with Anton Marcus aboard. SOLDIER'S CODE from the Dean Kannemeyer yard has to be respected. he showed good improvement in his second start last time. We all know how well this yard has been doing in KZN since April. DE LA RIO has improved in recent times and could earn yet again. BEACH BREAK needs to improve again. THE GINGERMAN has had two moderate runs but latest was better than first run.
1st - ROY'S ROLLS ROYCE (6); 2nd - SOLDIER'S CODE (9); 3rd - DE LA RIO (2); 4th - BEACH BREAK (1); 5th - THE GINGERMAN (10)
RACE 5:
THUNDER RUN stayed on well to win this C & D last time. Could repeat. JET ON FIRE showed good improvement last time before weakening. AL WAHED won his maiden very easily this C & D last time.Has his problems at the start though. PIANO MAN has been threatening but fails to deliver when it really matters. APOLLO'S GIFT won his maiden at 14/1 at the third attempt last time. May need to confirm that win.
1st - THUNDER RUN (10); 2nd - JET ON FIRE (5); 3rd - AL WAHED (3); 4th - PIANO MAN (1); 5th - APOLLO'S GIFT (7)
RACE 6:
AFRIKABURN from the Dean Kannemeyer yard ran fifth to FUTURA in the Grade 1 Champions Stakes last time. Was running on that day. Looks hard to beat on that run. SARATOGA DANCER ran well in a pinnacle stakes race last time. Could challenge. JOSHUA'S CROWN won well against weaker last time. STORMY ECLIPSE is in good form against slightly weaker. Was finishing well last time. CARIBBEAN DAY ran on well last time. More to do today.

RACE 7:
RASCALITY held on to win a good race this C & D last time. Could repeat in the same class of race. BARCELONA BABE ran well on debut two runs back and won last time. Looks to be heading in the right direction. MISS TEE won well over shorter last time. Won by over four lengths. Should have a say in the outcome. DUCHESS KATE can improve on a fair post maiden last time. TIMEFORATIGER is never far back. Can earn. Nice mass.

RACE 8:
OBLIVION has been racing improving in Gauteng. Could be worth following this afternoon. ROY'S GOLD looks to be improving. YELL her best race in ten last time. Could be worth following this afternoon on the improved run. RAVISHING LIZZY will have more to find but could fill a placing along with CHESTNUT JEWEL who showed marginal improvement last time.
