KUDA MATCHEM STAKES (Grade 3) - ACT OF WAR, THE CLASS ACT IS BACK

If this race is anything to go by, then the Cape Summer Season is going to one to really look forward to. The four year old son of DYNASTY, ACT OF WAR, showed his class in no uncertain terms at the "country course" in Cape Town on Saturday. Sent off at restrictive odds of 4/10, he came home full of running and won as a "good thing" should.

The field loaded quickly and without incident with ACT OF WAR the last one to load but the first one to arrive. CHARLES LYTTON was the first to show from ARNISTON and HEARTLAND. The favourite was content, under Anton Marcus, to sit towards the back of the field but always in touch.

ARNISTON led them into the home straight from CHARLES LYTTON and HEARTLAND. ACT OF WAR began to move up at the four hundred metre mark and once he found his feet it was simply a question of who was going to run second. ACT OF WAR won more comfortably than the margin suggests.

The win by the four year old Joey Ramsden colt was his eighth from ten starts which includes a host of Grade 1 wins. The win has pushed his earnings just behind R1.9 million.
