Accomplishment: Along with Team Valor International and Des Scott,
owns Jazzy (Arg) (Mutakddim), who is slated to be supplemented to the Breeders`
Cup Filly & Mare Sprint off her win in the GII Gallant Bloom H. at Belmont
Sept. 22 in her dirt debut. Muir also owns with Scott the sixyear- old gelding
Candidato Roy (Arg) (Roy), winner of Saturday`s £150,000 Challenge Cup H. at
Ascot at 50-1 odds.
Muir and his wife Robin have also owned several top runners in South Africa,
where Robin is from, including the winners of six Equus Awards (South Africa`s
version of the Eclipse Awards). His top horses include Group 1 winners
Cataloochee (SAf), and Argonaut (SAf).

What did you do to celebrate Jazzy`s big win? We had a celebratory
dinner at our favorite eatery.
About how many horses do you own? 50-plus. ( But he won`t give me, his
wife Robin, a straight answer either!)
What`s your ideal meal? South African langoustines with drawn butter
& lemon, with a fine wine!
Favorite vacation spot? Durban, South Africa.
Where would you like to go that you haven`t been? A trip through the
fjords of Norway, plus Sweden and Finland.
Do you have any pets? Yes. We have two blue & gold macaw parrots,
one hand macaw, two cats and a mix-breed dog named Denali.
Favorite music? Music of the 1940s and ‘50s & Latin music.
Last good book you`ve read? Alan Greenspan`s new tome, "The Age of
Turbulence: Adventures in a New World."
What are your hobbies outside of racing? Golf, swimming & scuba
diving.
If you could change one thing about racing, what would it be? I would
like to see all tracks converted to Poly track to avoid the high amount of leg
injuries.
