MUMBAI TO HOST THE 36TH EDITION OF THE PRESTIGIOUS ASIAN RACING CONFERENCE (ARC)

 The Royal Western Indian Turf Club (RWITC) announced the upcoming 36th Asian Racing Conference (ARC), to be held in India at Mumbai, from 24th to 29th January, 2016. The conference, organized by the Asian Racing Federation, will host leading turf representatives and racing enthusiasts from around the world and will be held at the historic Mahalaxmi Racecourse - home of the Indian Classics.
Asian Racing Federation (ARF) - the peak regional body for thoroughbred racing in Asia, Australasia, Saudi Arabia and South Africa, organizes the ARC with a vision to provide a common international platform for racing administrators, turf representatives and other industry players, where they can exchange ideas, network and share experiences, and be updated about leading trends in the industry. This initiative was conceived with the idea to promote thoroughbred racing internationally and further promote the sport.
The 36th Asian Racing Conference scheduled for the 24th – 29th January 2016, promises to be an action-packed week of racing and entertainment. It will include presentations made by experts in the field of racing from across the world, business sessions, social evening and more. The conference will start with the race day at the historic Mahalaxmi Racecourse, while the committee meetings and business sessions will be held in the prestigious Oberoi and Trident Hotels at Marine Drive. A post-conference Stud Farm Tour is one of the attractions scheduled at the Poonawalla Stud Farms in Pune where Dr. Cyrus S Poonawalla would extend his warm hospitality to the participants of the ARC.
Dr. Cyrus S Poonawalla – Chairman of the 36th ARC organizing committee, along with other dignitaries of the ARC and ARF interacted with the media, sharing the highlights of the upcoming event.
Key members of the participating club of the RWITC & the members of the organizing committee were present at the press conference and interacted with the media. The members were as follows:

b) Vivek Jain: Committee Member of 36th Asian Racing Conference Organizing Committee
c) R. Surender Reddy: Hyderabad Race Club
d) Harish P. Ramchandani: Royal Calcutta Turf Club
e) Cyrus Madan: Indian Pattern Committee
f) V. Harimohan Naidu: Bangalore Turf Club
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Poonawalla said “It gives us immense pleasure to extend a hearty invitation to delegates from the racing world to attend 36th Asian Racing Conference. The Organizing Committee will embark on the mission to make this conference a memorable experience for the guests. We are optimistic that the conference will see incredible participation and attendance.”
The Conference will kick start on Sunday 24th January, 2016 at the Mahalxmi race course - home of the Indian Classics, where delegates can soak in the ambience and the flavor of a classic afternoon which will witness the running of the Grade – 1 Indian Oaks. In addition there will also be three more Graded Races the same afternoon which will also include the Asian Racing Federation Trophy.
The Opening Ceremony will be attended by renowned personalities like Princess Zahra Aga Khan, Louis Romanet – President International Federation Horse Racing Authorities in Paris, Jocelyn Moubray – World renowned author on T/B Breeding, Hayley Turner – Former champion international jockey now media broadcaster. Noted speakers from Japan, South Africa, UK, Turkey, Qatar, Macau, Australia, France, Hong Kong, and Industry leaders from India will also be a part of the conference.
