There is very little form to work with in this race. Instead the first timer from the Mike De Kock yard, AL HAWRAA, could be the best with Anthony Delpech aboard. She is an Australian bred two year old daughter of NEW APPROACH.

RACE 2:

MASKED GIRL runs for the sixteenth time as a maiden but she has placed six times in second place and five times third. She does run well over the distance and should be the one to beat. ROY'S LILY ran her best race in seven last time when she found a good finish over this C & D. Must go close. AT VARIANCE ran her best race in seven last time. Can find a place, especially over the distance. ITALIAN MISS was well supported on debut two runs back and ran a good race. Last time out she was subject to even more support, but failed to deliver. Is probably worth another chance or two. ESPERANZA FIRE improved by twenty two lengths in her second start last time.

RACE 3:

This looks to be a competitive maiden plate. SABER'S BEADS made a very good debut last time when running ion smartly late when unfancied in the betting. Should be one of the early fancies with the bookies. NUNTIUS also made a good debut last time and should go on from that. SEVENTH MOMENT did have excuses last time and should be fighting it out. THE MONEY MAN could earn something on a hugely improved latest run. Best run in five. TRINITY HALL ran on well last time over shorter. Chance.

RACE 4:

BURRWOOD has generally had good form. He was an unlucky loser last time and can make amends. He won his penultimate run full of running over this C & D where he has now won twice. He looks the one to beat on current form. OCTOBER ELEVENTH drops in class and has been showing an improvement in form. Lightly raced but hasn't won in over a year. ALDRIC won his last two. His latest win was by almost nine lengths and that was over this C & D. Respect. SWAKOPMUND won both of his starts over the distance but at Greyville. BELLICOSITY shows good pace.

SERISSA has not won in over two years. His best run in the last eighteen months was in the Gold Cup where he finished less than four lengths behind WAIVIN FLAG. There is no guarantee that he is going to win but he could go close, especially on form of the yard. QATAR SPRINGS is holding form well and he should be one to go close to winning. BEEWITHMEE has been a bit off form but this is the C & D where he has won 60% of his wins. Respect. GREAT RUMPUS did not show last time but previous form was very good. NOBLE STAR needs a better finish. Hugely in his favour is the fact that he raids from the Highveld and their form is currently far superior.

RACE 6:

MY TREASURE raids from the Highveld, but with good form. He takes a jump up in class but the fact that the Highveld form is stronger, may compensate for this. Expect him to go very close in this one again. His biggest threat looks to be OLYMPIC BOLT. He won well last time over this C & D in his only appearance over this C & D. There has always been the feeling that he has something still to come. LAST TIGER is never too far off them but may be better suited to the 1400m. UNBELIEVABLE CHAD ran a solid post maiden run last time. CAGE FIGHTER could improve with the apprentice claim of 4kg.

RACE 7:

ALL TOGETHER NOW has only run four times. He has yet to run a bad race. He comes off a nine month break though and it could be this that prevents him from winning. He does the yard's top jockey aboard and this could make up for that. He has shown potential and if he doesn't need the run, then he could win this. ROY'S AIR FORCE has one good run before winning his maiden by almost four lengths. He followed that up with a very good post maiden run last time. Looks to have potential and should be strongly considered. IT DOESN'T MATTER doesn't look to have the form to win his second race, but does have a top jockey aboard. THE GOBI has improved since moving to KZN from the Highveld two runs back. ARGYLE BAY has not won in a while but can pop up this afternoon.

RACE 8:

MODERNISTA finished second in her last two. Yard and jockey in top form and are unlikely to go home empty handed. POCAHONTAS GIRL has improvement beyond recognition in KZN, although he only had one poor run in Johannesburg before his move to KZN. AVENTURINE must have a shout with top jockey aboard for top yard. Form is not bad either! Has improved hugely in her last three. SILKEN finished extremely well in a vastly improved second effort last time. Not out of it. AVAST has a place chance on her improved latest two starts.
