In recent days we have seen trainers win the quartet with the same owners in a single race, one trainer winning eight races on a twelve race card, including six in a row.
Last night at Turffontein, under lights, Sean Tarry had four consecutive winners on the eight race card. Unfortunately, his four year old ZAMBEZI RIVER, had to be put down after having being involved in a fall with MAJESTIC BAY. Both jockeys, S'Manga Khumalo and Matthew Thackeray had to be treated but had not received any serious injuries. ZAMBEZI RIVER won six from thirteen and had earned over R1 500 000 in stake money.
